Help understanding IGG results

Hello everyone,

I need some help understanding how to read igg results.

I was tested once before for HSV 1 and 2 and told the results were inconclusive and they wanted me to wait a while and re-test. I just recently took the test again and the results are very puzzling.

According to the results on the paperwork they gave me
HSV 2: results 0.72
HSV 1: results 0.07

According to the chart right below the results

1.21 - positive

From what i see in this chart it says that my results fell under the negative level. However the doctor told me I am positive and that I need to take medication (she put me on Acyclovir) and alert any past partners that they may now be infected.

I'm very confused about the results and how they are read, can anyone help me understand this? I asked the doctor but she explained it very fast and used to many terms I didn't understand, she finished up by telling me it was impossible to distinguish if I had HSV 1 or 2 and the only way I could ever know for sure is if I get an outbreak and come back in during the outbreak to be tested again.

I'm so confused and I just need some understanding on this matter, can anyone help me?

One of those results is probably IgG, and the other probably IgM -- do you see anything like that on the page? Or perhaps the bottom one is a combined HSV 1/2 test? Typing out all of the results exactly as they appear, including the test name, would be helpful.

i have no idea what that first test is. The important thing is that your individual test results are negative.

These are the tests I see on here and the ones I think we need there is so much information on here if this is what you need let me know. Or if I'm missing something let me know.

Test: TSH 3rd Gen - Result 2.291,   Ref. 0.55 - 4.78  (specimen: serum)

HSV 1 IGG AB. 0.73

HSV 2 IGG AB. 0.07

Is this the information we should be looking at? There were a ton of other tests done but they seem unrelated such as calcium, potassium, Co2, creatinine, etc.

Thank you for your time

less than 0.90 - negative

from 0.91 to 1.20 - inconclusive

greater than 1.21 - positive

I don't know why this keeps cutting off, I'm so sorry for all the replies to myself I just want you to be able to see what I see and it keeps cutting it to 1 line.
