severa issues

About a month ago I had unprotected sex with a high school friend. She performed oral on me And I did the same to her. There was only vaginal penetration.  A day or so later. I noticed an itching sensation at the base of my penis near my scrotum. And a dripping feeling. Fearing the worst I went to an STD clinic. With only that symptom. There has never been any discharge Nor any sores lesions rashes. Or anything. I had a ureathral swab and blood drawn. I waited 2 weeks for results and the all came back negative.  I was so relieved and after a week or so of drinking cranberry juice as a precaution it seemed to go away. Now a week ago I received oral sex while I was drunk from a girl who has hsv2. She is on valtrex and wasn't having an outbreak. She also had no sores in or around her mouth. Afternoon that encounter I was immediately terrified. I have no sores no flu like symptoms. And no signs of herpes yet however I have a dull pain at the base of my testicals near my body. It seems to flare up and fade but never fully go away. I am having blood work this Friday. Is it to soon to test for herpes?  What do these symptoms sound like to you? I should also let you know I was drinking lots of beer so I'm curious if this is a yeast infection. Also there is a history of diabetes in my family. Please help.

toothaches affect the same nerves in your oral area as herpes would. It would be unusual to be getting your first cold sore now this far into things - odds are it would've shown up much earlier than this.

One of the things to keep in mind here is that most people who get an infection show up with typical symptoms.  You won't have a prodome effect on an inital outbreak only on reoccurances.  Yes it is possible for an aborted outbreak but that's not often.  You need to have your lips looked at by a provider (dermatolgoist maybe the best bet) and your toothache looked at by a dental proffesional.

So no outbreaks yet. However I'm unsure if I'm in the prodrome stage. My lip had been itching slightly on and off for the past 2 days. This isn't the first time however. I have felt The same sensation before when I was worried about hsv contraction. So here's where a little confusion sets in. 1 can prodrome come and go with no outbreaks?  Can I have prodrome symptoms without an outbreak at one time and then have an outbreak another time?  I also have a toothache and ironically this itching feeling in my lower lip only came back after my toothache started.  Can itchy or tingling lips be the side affect of a tooth infection or periodontal issues? I am a little nervous.  I keep looking for blisters or sores on my lip and penis. But nothing's showed up yet. Any ideas?7

Well I haven't had an outbreak yet nor have I had any flu like symptoms. I am in my late 20's. I definitely didn't have any genital to genital contact  or any other contact with her genitals. The pain in my testicals comes and goes. Usually lasting a few days. I also feel like a mild burning sensation at the base of my penis. That comes and goes as well. Still no discharge or redness around the head of my penis. It doesn't hurt to **** at all. I quit drinking. For weeks no beer or liquor. Come to think of it I haven't had any pain or discomfort since then. I wonder if its yeast related. Well doctors today anyway I will let You all know the consensus. Thank you all for the help

you do not need testing for hsv2 from the partner who you know has it but only gave you oral sex. It's very unlikely that she has hsv2 orally and if you didn't have contact with her genital area, you were never at risk for it.

since you had unprotected sex a month ago, you should follow up with testing from that - mainly chlamydia and gonorrhea. that and hsv1 genitally are the 2 most likely std's if you are of high school age yourself.  Odds are if you had contracted hsv1 genitally, you would've had obvious symptoms within 2-20 days after the encounters.

If that's your only symptom from your same encounters above, then

Its stress (your atune down there more than before), and normal feelings can be augmented by the mind from anxiety - stress - worry -  guilt. etc.

a Herpes test is conclusive at 4 months post exposure, however you'll know if you caught it (which Im sure you didn't) in the next coulp of weeks by symptoms.

Thank you Vance. How long should I wait to see if I do in fact have herpes?  She has told me in the past that she gets cold sores every once in a great while. On her lips that is. This is why I'm concerned.

Yes it is too soon to test for herpes and HSV2 normally effects the gentials so her giving you oral sex is not a risk if she had gential herpes. Nothing you have said sounds at all like a STD.
