Ok thank you so much Dr.Howard for this information. I really appreciate your feedback.
Sorry I misunderstood. But in any case, your partner's symptoms clearly aren't due to a new HSV1 infection. Also, although oral HSV1 can be transmitted when you have no symptoms, it's statistically unlikely. Unlike genital HSV2, oral HSV1 seems to be transmitted primarily during overt outbreaks. As long as you're not having a cold sore, the chance of transmission during any particular exposure is very low -- not zero, but most likely it will never happen.
Also, your partner could be tested to see if he already has HSV1, as do half of all adults. If so, you'll know there's no risk and no need to worry at all.
Thanks so much for replying Dr.Howard. n yes I do have hvs1 orally, but I'm sorry I wasn't asking for me, I was asking for my partner who I performed unprotected oral sex on about 4weeks ago and every since then he has been experiencing muscle aches n fatigue. I was just curious on long these symptoms can last before blisters appear. THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN FOR YOUR REPLY. :)
Not possible. Such symptoms only occur along with sores, and the sores appear first.
In your other thread, you said you had past oral herpes (cold sores). That means you are immune to catching HSV1 again.
It's time for you to move on without worry. Good luck.
