Hidradenitis Suppurativa and Tens Machine?

Hi everyone,
I've had Hidradenitis Suppurativa for years now, I have it in all possible areas (groin, thigh, buttocks, abdominal fold, breasts, armpits) and for the past 3 years I have been treated with pain medication.

It has now been decided that "pain relief shouldn't be required for a skin problem" got to love those ignorant doctors!

My appeals for pain medication are going unheard and I have been told to use a Tens machine. I have bought the Tens machine, read the booklet and it states:
-Put the electrodes as close to the painful area as possible.
-Do not use on inflamed, broken or infected skin.

I'm sure you can all see my problem, where exactly am I supposed to put the Tens machine so that it is close enough to the painful area, but not on inflamed skin? Also it cannot be put on the chest area.

If anyone else uses a Tens machine or has some ideas on where I can put it i would appreciate your comments.
The areas I would most like to focus on would be my armpits and my groin.
Thank you in advance,
Hanna.
