Genital Wart

I had a growth on my lower groin between the fold. It was flesh colored. I swore it was a genital wart but my dermatologist said it was a skin tag.  I'm so confused and lost. She didnt fo a biopsy because she promised it's just a skin rag. My question is should I take her at her word?

I would trust a dermatologist more than anyone else. They specialize in skin diseases.

Have you considered a second opinion? Maybe from a genital area specialist (urologist or gyn).

Honestly, I’d feel so relieved if I was told skin tags, that I’d walk out of the MD office and not look back.

Idk but she was insistent that it was a skin tag. Wish I could show you a pic. I've shown it to many online doctors and all have said skin tag. Certainly she wouldnt have missed it would she?

I wish you could show me a pic, too :)

It sounds like you're just too anxious to allow yourself to believe all these expert opinions.  I'd say your job is to come to terms with this diagnosis and have faith in it so you can move on.
That was just some humor to lighten the mood.

Well, you pretty much have to at this point so you might as well. If she was wrong, you'll get another one or multiple ones in the next couple months so just check once a week. How long was it there?

Agreed. If it’s warts, it seems the research says it will resolve on its own or more will appear. Skin tags don’t go away. However in an area with a lot of friction, more can appear. As I note below - go for a second opinion.
