HPV Is going to be the cause of my death

I have had the HPV Virus for almost 14 years. I have Anal warts that I treated a couple of times almost 13 years ago. They came back and I left them alone. I was too embarrassed and shamed to go back for treatment. Well as of today my anus is filled with very large warts. some as large as 2.5 Inches. Big and painful. I have called several doctors and they all tell me on the phone that they do not treat my type of Warts. I have tried to reach out to the medical community and here I am still with painful warts that bleed  every day. They are so painful sometimes I cry till it is morning without sleep. I will end up dying from this. I am a 35 years old male and I consider this unfair.

I do not know where to turn. I even thought of going to a different country for treatment. I feel helpless and believe that I could easily die from this especially an infection. I have bowel obstruction. bleeding, and rash break outs in and around my anal area. I have yet to see a picture of a person online with anal warts that is worse than  mine. This scares me. I am tired everyday, loss of energy, motivation yet I maintain my 60 hour a week job. lately I have noticed blood come through my pants. how embarrassing . I read the stories on this forum and I am JEALOUS because of how severe my situation is. Even cleaning that area is painful. i do not know what to do. I don't want to step in to a doctors office and be judged for how severe my condition is. I can't put myself through that. I will probably die of cancer from this. I need help

I am sorry you are dealing with this, do you not have a family doctor or a walk in clinic?  if you go to a clinic they should be able to refer you to a dr who does deal with it.  I know it probably doesnt help me to say this but dont feel embarassed or worry about being judged this is your health and really dont worry about what they think, drs are all here to help and I am sure they have seen many things

First of all, I know you are very scared but you cannot die from having warts. Warts do not cause cancer, it is a different strain that cause cancer. Are you sure these are warts, I mean, have you had them diagnosed by a Dr? Because they aren't usually painful, but maybe thats because yours have grown and become uncomfortable. I really am very sorry that this has become such a horrible part of your life, no one should live like this in such despair because of a very common and usual problem.

I know you don't want to feel embaressed by seeing a Dr, but think whats best - a few seconds of embaressment in a Drs office or another 14 years in pain and discomfort because of this? It will be a few minuites where they will look at you down below, and although that in itself makes you shake with nerves, these Drs see things like this all the time, it's what they are paid to do. You need to think of your well being, although warts won't kill you, they are obviously putting a stop to you living happily, and that's not right. You need to see a specilist, and if they can't help you, they need to refer you to someone who can.

If you are unable to tell your doctor something without fear of them judging you, you need to find a new doctor.

I do not understand why you would let it get to the point it has without getting it treated, because frankly that seems a bit self destructive to allow a minor condition to progress to the point where it has.

Yes, it is awkward, uncomfortable to have to deal with doctors and nurses and show them a problem. But how are you going to get treated if you can't? Obviously leaving it alone for the many years did NOT help for you.

Do you have any other type of immune system depressing diseases such as HIV or Diabetes? Because that could possibly be why it has gotten so bad. You say you work 60hr weeks which is ALOT, and could be bad for your mental/physical health. Being constantly in stress and not getting any sleep could also be another reason for the severity of warts.

If your doctors or GP can't treat you, PLEASE find someone who can. Ask your doctor for a recommendation on someone who CAN.

You said you are looking into going to other countries for treatment. You should look into UCSF's Dysplasia Clinic in California. Joel Palefsky MD specializes in Anal Dysplasia and HPV related to HIV. Many say he is one of the best doctors in the US regarding HPV and treatment.

You need to go to the doctors and get them surgically removed. I know it's embarrassing but you can't live like that. Just go to the drs and then set up a date to have surgery. Then boom! A few weeks of recovery and your more than likely done. If not you may require a few freezings. You can get through this man! Come on pick up the phone! Call!
