How do I find out what strain of hpv I have?

I want to know as a man, how I can find out what strain I have. If it is 6/11 or the more serious 16/18/37/45.

if you have warts then you don't have the "high risk" viruses.  My understanding of typing of HPV is that at this point in time your doctor or clinic can get you one of a couple of tests both of which will tell you if you have high risk or low risk strains or both.  My understanding is that only a research doctor or a doctor at a research facility can request specific type testing.  Good luck.

To start with, how do you know that you have hpv? Do you have any symptoms?
