Possible new hpv question on male

Hi,
So about three weeks ago I developed a fever and flu like symptoms. This was after a very stressful sickness (really bad cold/cough) and all out breakdown of things in my life (car got towed while I was home sick). The night when I was sick I was off and on the toilet with diarrhea and had a fever. I thought it was food poisoning but am not certain now. So that night I felt a pain in my penis head that was painful to the touch. It since developed into many different smooth, not raised red spots that look moist on various parts of my head and shaft. The area seems to be irritated and dry and some spots are moist and a little painful to touch. Its red and there are red spots that arent raised but are shiny like. This happened about three weeks ago and has yet to take on a more raised texture or really look like hpv. What I'm wondering is how long does it usually take from onset of symptoms to having raised warts. I have told my girlfriend and she thinks its no big deal, but I can't help to feel dirty and generally ashamed about the possibility of an hpv.

Some other things to note: two days after the fever developed I was put on antibiotics for a nasal infection.  Around four days later I went to the doctor and she looked at it and said not to worry but offered no diagnoses. I was tested for herpes, HIV, syphillis, and all hepatitis types which all came back negative. I came to the conclusion that my compromised immune system and addition of antibiotics may have led to a male yeast infection, which I'm still hoping is the case. After a week and a half of lamasil I have shown no improvement except for more dryness, so I stopped using it. I don't have insurance right now (waiting for it to kick in) and  hoping for reassurance from my fellow humans.

Hi mine were skin colored. I actually had two sets. One set didn't grow very much at all and needed a magnifying glass to see them clearly. The others grew pretty quickly! Weird right???

Some folks recommend waiting a few months to let them grow out a little bit before getting treatment because if you get them taken off they might regrow. Other folks seem to think its better to get to them as soon as possible.

If you are waiting on insurance I suggest getting educated on treatment options so you can make wise choices. Here are a couple of links to places that gave me solid clinical information:

Hi,
Are your bumps red or skin colored? And after the small raised bumps appeared did they disappear eventually? Did they get bigger after the initial bumps appeared? I'm waiting on insurance and just looking for answers by people who have experienced this before I go to the dr. In the mean time i have had these red marks for around 3 going on 4 weeks and more keep appearing but theyre red a silky smooth, and im really dry and irritated down there. Thanks for your help.

Hey. From what I understand, which is limited, wart symptoms can happen within three weeks to years later. In my case, I felt pain and burning on my penis three weeks after an unprotected sexual encounter. I took a battery of STD/STI TESTS at various times. It took several more weeks for very small raised spots to appear that were biopsied as being HPV.
