length of time

Hi all,
My last question was primarily concerned with passing this to my daughter (gw). You have made me feel better knowing the chances are slim to none but I must admit, I wont let her sit in a chair after me when Im in pjs and I still alcohol spray the toilet after using it. Hopefully, my pararoia will wane in time.
If you read my 1st post, you'll note that Ive been with the same person (my husband for 17 years) we were broken up for a while so we've had sex exclusively with one another for 10 years. Ho is it possible that I get gw now, and not during my pregnancy in 2002 (when they are more likely to occur) or any other time for that matter? My husband insists hes been faithful through our marriage (since 1999) as hes extremely paranoid of disease as well. How could I have an outbreak now if the body is supposed to "clear" this in 2 years? Am I one of those rare people who wont clear it? What are my chances of clearing it and are my chances now increased of also having a high risk strain that (some people's bodies dont clear and develops into cancer?). Do most people not talk about gw? I have some very promiscuous friends and am finding it very hard to accept that I havent heard of this before.

Doctors do not post here.

To contact HHH, you will have to post in the expert STD forum. Because you are talking about common warts as well, consider the expert Dermatology forum.

Hi Dr HHH,
I Have read a lot of your advice and am hoping you can reassure me. PLease read my previous posts I know the human pappiloma Virus is non enveloped and is highly susceptable to SDS (found in soap) However, I also know that the strain that causes common warts can be easily spread by towels etc. (In fact there was an outbreak of plantars warts at my gym not too long ago) How are the genital wart and cervical cancer pappiloma strains different from the "common" skin wart in that they cannot be spread by shared towels etc?
I would think there may be a small chance genital warts spread in this way (fomite)

first of all you cant pass the virus unless your skin with the wart on it comes into contact with your daughter and yes you can have it for years and it never activates and gives you a symptom my doctor told me i could've gotten it from the first person i slept with. your daughter will not get gw from you .
