Can I stop Concor 2.5 medication in case my blood pressure is back to normal.

I am 43 years old 170cm and 79kg. I was following up with my doctor because I had Hep C, but now I am cured from Hep C, I was just making a yearly check up. He asked me for some blood tests and I found my cholestrol high and LDL high. He asked me to keep monitoring my blood pressure for a week. I did and the average was around 145/95. He asked me to take Concor 2.5 and Crestor 2mg. I am taking these medicaiton for around a week now and my blood pressure is 135/85.

My question is, can I stop the medicaiton if my blood pressure is normal again, or I will be on medication for the rest of my life ?

Hello, welcome to the forum.  We thank you for your question.  Please do not do anything regarding your medication without first having the okay from your prescribing doctor.  In general, no, you should not stop your medication.  If you have blood pressure due to weight or lifestyle choices,  you can begin to lower your blood pressure naturally by making different choices.  A heart healthy diet, losing weight and regular exercise (if your doctor clears you to do so) can help.  However, high blood pressure is often due to hereditary factors.  As your blood pressure lowered on medication in a weeks time, it's obviously the medication working. Please note that the target is 120/80, so your blood pressure is STILL moderately elevated.  Crestor is for your cholesterol and that would be a medication that is not temporary as well, most likely.  I would work very hard on the lifestyle choices as that can greatly help but would think that you are currently experiencing a drop in blood pressure simply due to the medication and therefore, it is necessary to continue.  https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/high-blood-pressure/changes-you-can-make-to-manage-high-blood-pressure   Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing!  We also have a diet and exercise community you may wish to join to keep on track with others in the same boat with lifestyle choices.  https://www.medhelp.org/forums/Diet-and-Fitness/show/190
