Hello and welcome to the forum.  We appreciate your question and the concern for your mother.  We encourage her to work with her doctor.  Normal blood pressure, as I'm sure you know, is 120/80.  Your mother should be taking her blood pressure at home on a regular basis a couple of times a day.  It's important to have both feet on the floor, think relaxed thoughts, keep her arm and cuff about heart level (propped up a bit).  Then record it to keep record.   This should be given to her doctor.  High blood pressure is familial often.  Things that help include weight management.  What is her BMI for example nd does she need to lose some weight?  Exercise is critical to controlling blood pressure. The recommendation if her doctor approves her for exercise is to do moderate exercise 5 times a week for 30 minutes. Things like walking briskly are acceptable.  Eating a healthy and heart healthy in particular diet are also important. Reducing sodium intake is recommended.   If her blood pressure is deemed chronically high, they may want to begin her on  medication.  These can be very effective in controlling blood pressure.  Here is an article on controlling blood pressure without medication. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-pressure/in-depth/high-blood-pressure/art-20046974

But ultimately, she may need to consider medicinal intervention.
Let me know what you think.
