How the heck do I lower this? Resistant hypertension?

Hi everyone I am new to this community. I have had high blood pressure since giving birth to my son 38 yrs as go when in was 25 yrs old and had toxemia. I am 63 now and for many years my pressure was 150/100 and I was not medicated. So many years- until one day I felt fine, went for a checkup and I had 210/120 !! I do get white coat hypertension but that was crazy numbers! He put me on atenolol and norvasc and brought it down but it was never "normal" always  hovering around 150/100 and I can't get rid of the white coat syndrome! Even at home its high because in get nervous there also! Cant win with this. My mom and grandma had it and My son who is 38 does too. We work out and eat right,  what more can we do? His is also hard to control with meds   HELP anyone?

I also was worryng about such a problem.I tried  taking vitamin K2  and camomile tea to make my blood pressure lower but it didn't help. That's why I went to my doctor who prescribed me Actelsar HCT, you can read more here  http://rxed.eu/en/a/Actelsar+HCT/ . And I can tell that now I feel a little bit better and my blood pressure is lower. I hope this helps or just see your doctor

I recently became aware my blood pressure was high, no thanks to the doctors I have been seeing over the years for various things who omitted to tell me. I'm trying to make ' lifestyle changes ' they told me to do that but didn't tell me how, thank god for Mr Google, anyway I digress, I found that pure camomile tea drops my blood pressure by 10-20 points. Take your blood pressure before and half an hour after 1-2 cups of camomile tea you will be surprised at how much it drops, all of that said, don't have salt , ( nothing processed ) and lose weight if needed , exercise, reduce stress with yoga and meditation.

Hi there. I wonder whether you have any other health issues? Do you smoke? Do you exercise? Have you had bloods done recently? Especially Kidney function and blood sugar tests. Secondary causes can happen the odd time( About 5 - 10% of the time) Get a blood test for adrenal gland, I think its a Renin Aldosterone % test. The main thing I would do is to insist on a 24 Hour ABPM test. Its simple and will give you a proper 24 hour average of your BP. The test makes allowance for the white coat period also. It costs little and is not invasive, just a little annoying going off every 30 or 60 minutes!!
But you should do it for sure. When you get the test result you can deal with the BP results and adjust your meds to get it down. Im not a doctor, but your doctor is best placed to help as he has all your history & records available. I have offered general advice, I hope it helps. Do keep us posted. MAKE THAT APPOINTMENT!!
