Dark Hematoma After Hysterectomy

My wife was subject to a surgical hysterectomy with ovaries removal. After leaving the hospital hematoma started to be visible on her hips and upper leg around 30 square centimeters on the left and 10 square centimeters on the right , her hemoglobin level dropped to 7 , CRP was 22 according to the doctor that was due to her body  being sensitive to the blood thinner used during the surgery  , how true is that ? could it be a blood thinner overdose

I never heard of using a blood thinner during surgery. I don't know why they would since that would make you bleed more. What have you found out since then? How is she doing?
