Scheduling hysterectomy

I had a uterian biopsy that came back with some precancerous cells, then had d n c hysto that came back with the same precancerous cell plus they found a palp.  So doctor tells me they will schedule a hysterectomy but wants me to see a gyn oncologist.  This was 2 months ago, first month no period then this month i have been bleeding for 14 straight days so far and some of the days it has been so bad that i am going through a pad an hour.  She started me on b/c pill and i took them every 6 hours and that slowed it but not stopped it.  Now I am back on one a day and still bleeding heavy with major clots.  Has this happened to anyone?  Another question is they are telling my i have to have a radical hysterectomy and I am still not sure I want my ovaries taken?  I have concern about the hormones any comments would be help full.

you do not mention your age to know if you are in the peri-menopausal state...this must be VERY scary for you! I would strongly recommend a second or third opinion before having a hysterectomy for "pre-cancerous cells" If it were me I would try the progesterone and continue to be monitored for change....but this is a very tough decision and only you can decide what is right for you! Dig deep in the research and see what your options are at this point. I personally don't think I would have my ovaries removed for pre-cancer of the uterus....if it was cancer well I might have to rethink that...but the aftermath of a hysterectomy (and even worse for a complete or radical) is tough! I am not a DR. but I would be asking ALOT of questions on pre-cancerous v.s. cancerous and the treatment variations available between the two...Obviously if it were cancer you would want to have all the cancer removed...but I would have to know more for pre-cancerous and would most likely even see a naturopathic dr. for an opinion...I am sorry you are enduring this! Thoughts and prayers that you get the help you need!

So glad to hear you avoided hysterectomy! Thanks for posting your experience! Yes, hysterectomy IS a destructive surgery displacing bladder and bowel (uterus separates and keeps them where they belong) as well as spine, hips, and rib cage since the uterine ligaments are the pelvis' support structures.

Thankfully, you had an ethical and honest medical professional. I was not so lucky and am now suffering the many adverse effects of hysterectomy and ovary removal.

Charolette Kelly who now resides in California saved my life with projesterone cream, that I'd rub on my abdomine and my body absorbed what it needed! I was thinking of hysterectomy. she told me when you take out parts, more parts fall. I am now over menopause thanks to her

Kathy, Im sorry your going through this it must be very scary and you have some difficult choices to make. I think I can help guide you a bit, but remember we are all educated volunteers not Drs,,I have been in your shoes, had a complete hyster no cancer was involved however.

Polyps are usually large non cancerous 99% of the time,,, a big growth. The precancerous uterine cells concerns me and you too I bet...It sounds like they caught something very early which makes you a very lucky woman.

So yes you need to see a gyn-onc do you have an appointment yet,,,you need to get one asap.

Heres the deal with the ovaries, I completley understand wanting to keep them. Your hormones would remain normal. The concerning part is whith cervix and uterus gone should your ovaries become cancerous,,,it would be very difficult to discover until late stages,,( you would be hurting and probably stage 4) early ovarian cancer can be caught by a blood test called CA125..if your Dr is agreeable to give this test on  a regular basis, it would be something for you to speak with him about. Other than that a pap test will only detect vaginal cancer (rare)

Your bleeding is a high level and serious, most likely your already anemic. Id advise you to read up on The DaVinci Hysterectomy method. also Bio-Identical hormones. Do searches for both here there is a vast amount of information.

Also one step at a time...lets get you past the cancer scare then I can help you with pre surgery tips and we can talk more about bio-hormones ( I could write a book about both) have answered many many questions about both.

Having break through bleeding on birthcontrol happens, its a sign of concern,,please make the appointment for gyn-onc ,,,,pm me if youd like to speak privatley.

hugs

Cherie
