EBV results - trouble understanding

I recently was tested for EBV because I am having some issues with lack of sleep, tingling and weakness throughout my body.  The test they ran are as follows:

EBV Ab VCA IGG   177.0  high     negative is less than 18.0   equiv 18.0-21.9    positive greater than 21.9
EBV Ab VCA IGM  less than 36.0 which is negative
EBV PCR Quant (Whole Blood)   Negative

My doctor says this just means I had mono at some point in my life.  I do not remember ever having mono, but ok, maybe when I was a baby or I thought something was just the flu was actual mono.

With such a high number of 177.0, could I be dealing with an active case of EBV that is contributing to my symptoms?  Thank you.

Okay, it doesn't look like it from what you have.

Hi, it doesn't appear they did the EBNA test, just the tests I posted were the ones done.  Ok, so I will assume my symptoms are not due to EBV.  I appreciate your response.  Thank you.

Did they do the EBNA (nuclear antibody)? That helps determine if it is past or present infection. But since the IgM was negative and the PCR negative it looks like past infection. If your immune system is good then you can have high antibodies it doesn't mean you have a present infection. It just means you have good immunity against it.
