Hepatitis from bleeding cuticle at nail salon?

I never go to nail salons and decided to get a mani and pedi with a friend. They proceeded to cut my cuticles on my feet and finger and nicked a few of them. They didn’t really do anything about it, and even proceeded to pull out a brush with oil and put it on my nails. This brush looked like it was a generic thing that they used on everyone! I’m also concerned their tools were dirty and they didn’t disinfect between customers. What are my chances of getting hepatitis from this?

Hi Kwan78Fina,
Usually salons are licensed and they have to practice under strict guidelines on cleaning  and sterilizing instruments. If this salon is licensed and the person that worked on you is as well it should be fine. The nail polish ingredients include a number of organic solvents. The cocktail of ingredients are really difficult  to be resisted by microorganisms including bacteria or fungi. So it is unlikely. If you have any other worries you can talk to your doctor about this. There is some concern About the ultraviolet light causing cancer if you have your nails done and dried by UV light.

In my opinion, I also doubt that Hepatitis can live in nail polish as well.

The nail tech also proceeded to use his nail to smudge nail polish off where it had gotten on my skin, and subsequently also touching the area where my cuticle was cut and previously bleeding, further irritating it. What if he did that to other customers that had bloody nails?
I wouldn't worry about the nail tech using his finger nail and getting something  from that. You would know by now if you get a bacterial infection. Also, In my opinion I don't think you would get anything the way you describe.
