Hey all,
The late summer/autumn is here now and, due to having 3 cats getting fleas again this year was just inevitable, although they weren't a problem this summer, just recently.
In the past two days I've been bitten a fair amount, namely around my ankles, and since they I have started to feel ill. Headache, fever, muscle pain, and mild nausea are my main symptoms.
Do you think this is typhus, and if so what should I do about it? If it is I should probably go to my doctor to get some antibiotics if it gets severe, but otherwise can this go away on it's own? I had similar symptoms due to cat flea bites two years ago, didn't get help for it but it did go away eventually. Also can you become immune to this? I don't have a rash but I still don't feel right.
Hopefully it'll get cold in a month to kill off the fleas outdoors, as for indoors, there isn't really an infestation (yet?) but I figure I'll have to go through the whole process again of spraying/hooving the floors and getting more expensive spot on for the cats (2 time this year?).
Thanks.
