Will apreciate your help and very expert answer

My 16 year old son decided to help a friend this weekend to take care of her 3 moths old dog, the dog was with us for 3 days and he was all the time playful, happy, well eater, drinked water well and very active. Today I found out that the little dog don't have the rabies shot yet, this made me really mad and upset ( because I asked this girl several times if he had it and she said yes ), also brought back my severe OCD because my son told me that the little dog nibble him and scratch him ( no broken skin in both cases) and now my OCD is driving me crazy with the idea that he can contracted rabies even with no broken skin, no bite, only small scratch that disappear after 5 min and some little nibble in the hands, I want an expert opinion if possible, if i going nuts or I have reasons to be worry about this incident? please answer me as soon as you can. thanks very much.

I'm sorry this has upset you so much.

First, if the puppy didn't bite anyone, there's no chance of rabies transmission - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/rabies/symptoms-causes/syc-20351821

For some perspective, only about 1 to 3 humans get rabies each year in the US - https://www.cdc.gov/rabies/location/usa/surveillance/human_rabies.html 23 cases of human rabies have been reported between 2008 and 2017.

Only about 60 to 70 dogs in the US have rabies each year. Chances of this pup having it are really, really low since it's well-taken care of, and if it had been bitten, it's owners would have taken it to the vet for treatment.

The puppy is just now old enough to get a rabies vaccine - the first shot is 3-4 months, and the second is 12-16 months - https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/health/puppy-shots-complete-guide/

Are you getting help for your OCD? I hope you are. There are some really good therapies available for it. I hope this helps and you find peace.

auntiejessi thanks very much for your answer, it came it the moment that I need it the most, I feel like Im going crazy, the little dog is fine and w his mom, he nibble and scratch my son but only very superficial, no broken skin at all, and he is doing well after 5 days today ,the mom will keep and eye on him until day 10 that is the limit the law put for observation, is very hard for me to overcome my OCD given that I have another daughter that almost die 4 times and anything gets me very anxious and w panic attacks that something wrong will always will happen no matter that. My husband tried a lot to convince me that is no reason to worry but I cant, I have a therapist that will put me on EMDR treatment to help me overcome fast all this emotional problems, but I really appreciate your help, blessings to you.
I don't have OCD, but EMDR helped me a LOT with PTSD. I hope it helps you, too.

I can't imagine the trauma you've been through. It's understandable that you're reacting this way. You aren't crazy. You have OCD and trauma, so your brain reacts in a way it deems appropriate to a perceived threat to one of your kids.

Hang in there. We have an OCD forum that may help - https://www.medhelp.org/forums/Obsessive-Compulsive-Disorder-OCD-/show/231
