Hi, sorry I just saw your post. Please change docs! when creams do not work you can do the antibiotic resistant test or have them treat you with oral medication. I had a fungal infection around my thigh area and it was horrible. It wasnt red but kind of darkened my skin and it appeared to be scaly. The cream didnt work to well. it came coming back until my doc prescribed an oral antifungal med and that worked wonders.

Dear insaneornormal737,

Sorry for the late reply.

If the double dosage of the cream and antibiotic has been used for more then 10 days and there is no effect it is most likely inefficient and should be discontinued.

Have your doctor made an antibioticogram - this is a type of test when he takes the sample of the bacteria and uses different antibiotics on it to identify which will be the most effective - the test takes for about 1 to 2 weeks. Maybe you should perform it.

When the most effective antibiotic will be determined treatment should be performed and after it another swab test to verify that the microorganisms were killed.

In order to reduce the itching you may use some kind of anti-inflammatory cream, however your doctor should determine which it should be as some are contraindicated with antibiotics.

Hope you get better soon, wish you all the best.
Regards, John.
