what is wrong with me

Just found out I have hpv...cervicitis...and just had a relapse of ebv. Been 3 months of hell what could be causing my body to all of a sudden be reactivating viruses? Hpv is new but I'm sure I was exposed 10 years ago and I got ebv when I was 15. My blood work was mostly normal  I have high ALT (SGPT) Levels at 40

I have high platelets 534

A high count for EBV which is mono. ENT wasn't concerned about anything else besides the mono.  But that it's not active anymore. Still have awful symptoms my throat hurts feeling sharp pains in my abdomen. I have a low risk strain of hpv everything came back normal with my biopsy and cocoscopy except that i have an inflamed cervix.  my symptoms won't stop! !! Feels  like even more is going on since it just seems like my body is pulsating diseases through my veins !!! It's awful. It hurts and it's uncomfortable.

Hi, sorry to hear you are still not feeling well. Iron deficiency will make you feel exhausted.  I had it and I am on Iron pills for life for me. But not everyone is. I am pretty sure mine is caused by my prescription medication. Once you are normal with the iron level you will still have to go back and keep checking every 3 months to start with. It can drop once you go off the iron. Then if it stays the same check it at 6 months then a year. I learned the hard way and a doctor said that I was normal and went off my iron pills then I went way down and didn't know it until it was low again. So, if it is normal it may remain normal only while being on the the iron supplements. A heavy period can cause this, bleeding, or a number of things. I hope your Lyme test is negative. It is a bad disease to get. Especially if it is chronic. HPV won't increase your temperature and chronic EBV doesn't usually either. So, it may be something else. Is your urinary tract infection gone? You don't have any cough do you? Any other symptoms now?

So I have iron deficiency been getting the infusion at a cancer center. It's terribly sad to be there.  My last and final tests are going to be lime disease Full panel for thyroid and another iron test to see if I'm better.  My headaches are still bad temp still is elevated I'm just about ready to give up and just accept that it's the hpv or epstein barr virus that's making me this way.

Usually it takes a couple of days for the UTI to clear up. Drink lots of water and if you can cranberry juice. That is if you are not diabetic.  I usually get the pills so the shot should take effect pretty soon.
Have you had a iron and ferritin test? That would help to see if you have an iron deficiency anemia. But on your complete blood count your RDW would be high if there was a problem too. Take a look at that.

Have a horrible UTI now.  Had to get a Rocephin shot. Don't even know if it worked.  Such horrible luck. Anyway my Hemotologist thinks I could have iron deficiency because out of nowhere when I saw him the blood count he did showed my platelets went down to 386. Huge shocker After months of it being elevated.  I honestly believe its due to my diagnosis Of chronic cervicitis with atypia. I just got my repeated pap test back everything was the same. Inflammation causes increased platelet levels so I believe that's what's going on.  Do you know anything about rocephin 1 gram?  How long does it work and take full effect? It's been 24 hrs so far I feel only a little better. Temp is still around 99. thanks for your advice.  I've just been so lost since jan.

Yes that is strange for only the platelets to be high. Let me know how it goes.

My platelets are still 550. I have to see a hemotologist now.  So now I might have a blood disorder or some other issues..  Dr says it could be normal but it may not be.  All I have his ovarian cysts right now with pain. Thankfully all my levels are now normal.  Except for my platelets.

Yes she said they'll go away within 3 months or so. But if I experience more pain to call her. I forgot to mention my cholesterol was a little high as well. I'm confused because they said I had absolutely no infection but after taking antibiotics I'm feeling better. I'm not cramping like I was.  I could be speaking too soon though so... I'm personally am concerned with my platelets and my liver. I don't it's anything too serious but we'll see. I'll keep you updated.

Hi and thanks for the update. Well, regarding the liver it regenerates. So even if you got damage it will heal. What are they going to do about the cysts on the ovaries?  Do they go away on their own or do they do any thing about them?

ALT level has gone up to 48 cholesterol went up.  Good news is my platelets went down to 454. All other levels were normal. So the Dr did a CT scan of my abdomen and a transvaginal ultrasound. Ultrasound sound  showed that I had two small cysts on my ovaries. Nothing else was detected. I had absolutely no infection and I don't have PID. She also said my cervix didn't look inflamed. So only concern with my primary care is my liver levels. So I'm still waiting on my abdomen CT scan results. I'll get back on the 31st at my appointment.  Praying I don't have liver damage.

Segs or neutrophils are the type of white blood cells that fight infections. Usually it is bacterial infections. Your level is really not very high it is only slightly high. Usually, it would be 10,000 or more. So I wouldn't worry about the white count so much. But yes the platelet count is high too. Since you didn't finish the course of antibiotics it may not have killed off whatever infection you have. Do you have a high fever? If not I honestly don't know thing iti s in your blood. Did they take a blood culture from you? They would have if they suspected it was in your blood. So I think you are still fighting the infection in the same area as before. Either because you didn't finish the course due to allergy or because it wasn't the right antibiotic for the bacteria you have it is still there. But, you will get rid of it and feel better. It doesn't sound life threatening at this point and not cancerous. The biopsy would have shown that.
take care, You will be okay.

Do you know anything about the Seg # in blood count?apparently mine is at 8540 and the highest is at 7800. So I'm beyond the limit. I'm starting to think I have a really bad bacterial infection now since I'm still having symptoms of an infection "downstairs". My platelets are still high at 533. So my body is fighting something.  It's just crazy finding out you have hpv then ebv to having some crazy infection that's in my bloodstream. I'm only 28 years old I just can't believe this.  I'm praying for a miracle.

Sorry this happened to you. It does sound like an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I would call the doctor on that. You still have a high white count so it looks like the infection is still there. A high platelet count can be seen in allergy or blood clots if you fell. But it makes more sense for allergy. the low rbc may mean you have anemia and may be why you felt faint. I am not sure about the high blood pressure. It may have been compensating for the anemia but not sure about that.  I would get an Iron level done, ferritin, and total iron binding capacity. Also, a B12 level. Repeat the platelet count in a while. Also was your hemoglobin low too? You probably need to go back on an antibiotic. Talk to the doctor that prescribed it and tell him about the rash and your feeling faint and blood results. You will be okay. It may be iron deficiency anemia. I have had it and it makes you very tired.

So ended up going to the ER for high blood pressure and almost fainting. They did lab and now my wbc is 11.8 and my rbc is 3.2 and my platelets is at 533. I still feel like I have an infection I had to stop taking the antibiotic as I believe I suffered an allergic reaction because I now have a rash or heat rash on my chest.  What the hell is going on with me?  I got tested for hiv and all other stds and it came back negative.

Sounds good. You may want to use a probiotic so you don' t get intestinal problems from so many antibiotics. These can be purchased OTC and have live healthy bacteria. They contain about 10 billion live bacteria such as lactobacillus (that is in yogurt) and bifidobacteria etc.  Take it after the last antibiotic for about 2 months.

This new Dr I saw today is great. She's wanting to do more labs on me and redo the cocoscopy and ultrasound .Based on my symptoms she's going to go ahead and treat me for pid. She said everything looked ok downstairs and she was able to glimpse my cervix and she said it didn't look inflamed. So we will see. I have another long road ahead to getting to the bottom of this. I'm on 2 antibiotics and another for yeast for after my antibiotics so wish me luck. Oh and the vaginal bleeding turned out to be an early and abnormal period and the discharge she said was from the vaginal antibiotic that I had used.

Yes maybe the prednisone made your inflammation get better but if there was a yeast or perhaps bacterial vaginosis (BV) it might have made that worse. They really need to do a culture or a smear to see what is going on. I don't think it is PID. Rather, BV.  I don't know why the antibiotic didn't work. Either it was the wrong one for the infection or that it didn't work because of the prednisone. I hope they can get rid of it this time. I hope they do a culture or test this time on it. You can request that they check for BV or ask them "would a culture help" etc.

Just giving an update . Bad news is I finished my 5 day medication and it completely made me worse. Past 2 days I've been having vaginal bleeding and a lot of white discharge so the medication really messed me up for the worst since it was used vaginally. What's worse is that I'm taking prednisone and if it is a yeast issue which I'm sure part of it is I'm not suppose to be taking it.  I have a Dr appointment tomorrow at a different gyno that treats everything so I'm excited.  But I'm scared because this is the worst infection I've ever had and it just continues. ...

So I bought this enhanced AHCC and BB12 powder. It's sold OUT everywhere I'm so happy I got it.  It's being studied as a potential cure and I'm so excited to see if it can at least help the virus go back to being dormant atleast. Things are looking up I'm not as despressed and thank full I'm not worse off.
