intermen bleeding after polypectomy

Hi. I was experiencing intermenstrualbleeding for about 6 months.Bleeding usually occurs 3-5 days after mid-cycle/ovulation which I have been monitoring thru ovulation sticks and occurence of mittelschmirz.  Saw my OB-Gyne coz we were also trying to conceive. USG showed a polyp so I underwent H/S polypectomy 2 months ago. However, I still continued to have the spotting during my 2nd half of cycle byt the frequency and amount is lesser than pre-polypectomy. Does this mean my spotting is not due to the polyp? And does this also mean I have DUB/hormonal issues? My OB suggested to start Clomid but I still want to continue getting pregnant on my own. Pls help.

Thank you for your reply doctor. Is it wise to go ahead with clomid at this stage or will I need more investigation? My OB said I can start clomid on my next cycle...

Your bleeding during the second half of the cycle is concerning. If it is only at mid cycle with just spotting then it could be just estrogen withdrawal bleeding. However if it is more than that I would be concerned that there may be something wrong with your hormones or with the endometrium ie the uterine cavity.  You can be tested for hormone problem by doing a mid luteal progesterone level and you can be tested for uterine problem with a saline infusion sonohysterogram.
