Is there a possible connection?

My mother is 80, has had two strokes for certain, fell last week due to dizziness.  Today she is complaining of dizziness, has high blood pressure, low heart rate, and the white part of one of her eyeballs appears to be filled with blood. Her doctor is pregnant and working half days and the facility is short 2 doctors and may not be able to work her in.  Is there possibly a connection of these symptoms that suggest a serious problem?

you need to get your mother to the Emergency Room!!!!  Those are very serious symptoms and she needs emergent medical attention.

She clearly needs evaluation and from reading the follow-up it sounds like you are on the right track.

Thanks so much for your response!  We were sitting in her doctor's office when I originally posted.  We had called her doctor for guidance because she works closely with us and takes very good care of my mother.  Her office had told us to come in and get her checked.  They did not tell us she was not there until we got there and were not that concerned about the symptoms.  They did not call her doctor at home to get her opinion.  This is what had made us so nervous about going to their office and waiting to to be worked in and is why I posted here.

Waiting in that office made us very uncomfortable and more nervous so it was off to the ER after about 5 minutes of waiting.

Your reponse made the difference between the right diagnosis and the wrong  diagnosis!

Thanks again!

Aren't you the funny one!  There was nothing phoney in the post.  I was looking for information while waiting for information.  Obviously you have never been there, before.

After being told yesterday that nothing had happened and her eye was just a coincidence, we pushed for more tests.  After an MRI another doctor came in last night to tell us that she had had a stroke and the eye was collateral damage.

Isn't it funny how I got the RIGHT information on this blog from cabkrun before I got it from her doctors...Oh, and you, being "Johnny on the spot", were sooooo helpful...right?

You know, it is a good thing I look in all directions before jumping in, unlike you, or they would not have done the MRI and she would not be getting the treatment she needed after all!

Thanks to cabkrun, I refused to take their opinion and pushed for more tests.

THANKS, cabkrun!!!!!!!!!!!

I took her right after I posted this question.  She was admitted so they could check her carotid artery and do an MRI but they said they did not think there was anything wrong...

I appreciate your response!

Thanks again,
