Anti-Inflammatory Drugs and IBS-C

I was recently told by my doctor to start taking anti-inflammatory drugs in order to help with my tendinitis in my left wrist from guitar playing. From what I understand they tend to affect the digestive system quite harshly. Would you suggest taking them? If so, should I start on a very mild regiment and increase in small increments as required?

Thanks!

Okay. Thanks for your input. I will try out the anti-inflammatory drugs and see if that works.

Dosages and which medication to use are questions that are really suited for your doctor.    I don't think it will cause your IBS to flare up.  I don't think there is a reason to start with a mild dosage and increase, I think you can just start with the dosage your doctor wants.  My idea of a short time period is between a week and a month.

Hmm, I'll give it a try then. I have been able to keep my IBS under control for the most part by eating well (though, it does flare up occasionally, and never seems to ever be entire "back to normal").

Is there any brand you can suggest? Like I asked in my original post, is it a good idea to start with a mild dosage and increase, or just give it a go and get it over and done with? What is your idea of short period of time? One week? One month?

Thanks for your response!

As long as you don't have ulcers or other bleeding problems, I think that taking anti-inflammatory drugs for a short period of time is okay.
