Irritable bowel?

I have been diagnosed with irritable bowel after suffering with pain and constipation for years. I also suffer badly with wind. I have been taking fybogel mebeverine twice a day and peppermint capsules for the past 4 months.I track my fibre intake, and ensure I have a minimum of 27g per day. I am an adult female, I exercise several times a week and consider my diet to be quite healthy. The pain isn't as frequent but im still constipated most of the time. Does anyone have any advice please?

I would recommend reducing your caffeine intake and try and drink at least 64 oz (8 glasses) of water a day.

Along with getting enough fiber, are you making sure to drink a lot of water?  If you are not drinking enough water, the increased fiber won't help you.  You might want to talk to your doctor about starting on a mild laxative to help with the constipation which might also help the pain.  My recommendation would be something like miralax or milk of magnesia.

Hi  Sorry to hear about your IBS.   I tried the fybogel and peppermint and they didn't work for me.  See my post about Aloe Vera it may work for you because I had the same symptoms.
