I have my first colonoscopy coming up in two days and picked up my prep package today, something I haven't seen mentioned here, called Halflytely & Bisacodyl tablets. I'm supposed to take the two pills at noon tomorrow (clear liquid diet), and then after a bowel movement occurs (or at most six hours later), drink the powder that I have mixed in a two-liter jug with water and refrigerated. 8 cups, one every 10 minutes. Sounds very filling! My biggest concern has been the liquid diet as I get very shaky if I don't have protein, but I see that I can drink things like Enlive that contains protein, so I hope that will help.
I'm not worried about the procedure itself as I have endoscopies every few years. A shot of Versed and Demerol always puts me into a nice sleep, then I wake up after the procedure long enough to be driven home, then take a nap for a few hours and it's all over. I hope the prep isn't too bad, but my doc says that a colonoscopy is even more important than getting a mammogram in terms of screening. I've put it off for a few years but will finally DO IT!
Here's an interesting website talking about colon prep. It make me feel better about the whole process.
Best of luck to all those facing a colonoscopy!

The pill is for the prep for the colonoscopy. I actually just learned that my in-laws also used it for their colonoscopies and they said the pills were much better than drinking the liquid prep. So, as long as I can down 20 pills in an hour, this prep hopefully will be a bit easier since the liquid prep makes me vomit.
I actually have never heard of that. There is no pill given for a colonoscopy.
