Stomach Issues

For six years I have been pretty sick and in 2012 cost me my job. I have chronic abdominal pain, nausea most of the time, irregular bowI issues, no vomiting but feel like I could all the time. Some foods make it worse but most of the time it doesn't matter what I eat I am still sick. I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis in 2007 and prescribed Regland. That helped but had bowl issues and in 2010 the drug stopped working for me. I then was placed on Domperidone and for the first year I was very good and then got sick again. At this point I had several test already done and then referred me to the University of Kansas. After more test by their specialist they added Gastritis, irritable bowl and Dyspepsia to my diagnoses list. After being seen at KU for a year and a half I was then referred to the Mayo Clinic which I will attend this month. Can anyone relate and if so, can you offer me any helpful advice. I am at the end of my rope. Thank you!

Yes they have Clysta and they did so twice. They can only see that I have an inflamed stomach and don't know why. I pray that mayo can help identify why I am sick so often and why I have stomach pain but to be honest I don't expect much since no one else could help me. I woke this morning feeling pretty good and don't know why. made a trip to the bathroom and now I feel sick again or was it the eggs I ate for breakfast trying to digest. I don't know. Thank you Clysta and I hope you have better days in front of you.

The biggest issue that it can be chronic... I've had dozens of tests and everything is pretty much controlled except my IBS...

I assume you had an EGD done (I don't know any other way to diagnose Gastritis except for that) did they take biopsies?

Thanks for your reply. I do know that some things make it worse like peanuts, potato chips, candy, but most of the time I am sick no matter what I eat. After two weeks of being real sick, last night and today I feel pretty good. I always have stomach pain even when I feel my best. If they could only find out what causes that pain they might find out why I am sick as well. Thanks for helping.

I have Gastritis, GERD, IBS, ulcers, erosive esophageitis and Duodenitis. It's... Annoying to say the least. My daily symptoms are nausea, abdominal pain (namely epigastric) diarrhea/constipation, heartburn, bloating and feeling full. After a few years we seem to have found a combination for me that works. I'm on Gas X, Hyoscyamine SL, Zofran, Phenergan, Zantac 300, Omeprazole and Bentyl. I was on other stuff before but they cause all kinds of issues and it was a huge shuffle. I had to cut out a massive amount of stuff in my diet, such as alcohol, chocolate, fast food, greasy or fried foods, HFCS, etc.

Have you kept a food diary? Do they also know what's causing your Gastritis?
