What is my body doing?

I've been in a digestive battle with my body since last June. I really didn't pay attention to what caused it to be rebellious all of a sudden, other than of course the food I was eating which I'm not completely subtracting as the problem. Mainly what I eat is stuff generally found in Dollar Tree, it's practically all I can afford. Freezer stuff from their sandwiches to basically pastas. At the time, last year, I recklessly ate and that lead to bathroom visits where the stool was fairly large dumps, to the point. I never really paid attention to how often I went to the bathroom, things just happen.

Well, now I am and kinda been all freakish about it by looking up medical information about what I should be doing and shouldn't be doing etc. What foods to eat and stuff. Because, since that last June, I was worried I wasn't going to the bathroom at all to the point where I ate almost nothing for a few days. Because I felt at the time that if I wasn't going to get anything out, then I'm not eating at all.

So, I did go to the doctors at least three to four times between the months of June - August. Diabetes is out of the question, Constipation was a valid diagnosis and I should've had my colon checked but I refused out of embarrassment. So, I've taken some laxatives like Miralax and Polyethylene Glycol. These things have solved a similar problem for me for 12 years and I figure if they did it then, must be now!

Well, I've had minimal success. My stools, get turned into faucet-like and liquid. Gross, but worked for what's been given. So, now my body is becoming a science experiment, like what will it take to get my bowels in motion again and on a fairly consistent basis? If the laxatives aren't working as well, then what will? I've done any trick in the book. I've drank prune juice, which did work also but not as much as I'd like it to. I've tried greasy foods which technically is a form of laxative. Greasy foods in the past for me, usually means quick trips to the bathroom in minutes.

Then that stopped working. And this is all between the months of August all the way to December. I am now at a point where I'm exercising and drinking coffee. Coffee, which by the way, surprised me because it's a drink I normally wouldn't think work. But, I've read up it actually counts as a form of laxative with some qualities and few people are affected by it that helps them. Yet, also it can be a cause of constipation, so it's a good/bad thing for your body. Nowadays, that's barely even working! My bowels give me a tough time to go.

My diet consists of this now, since I've read online and have a better idea of what foods trigger what:

No Pastas (Or minimally, the pasta I'm avoiding are the ones where you make homemade mac and cheese or home made anything from)
No Soda
No Fast Food
No Chips
No Breads (I stick to my Wheat out of all the types available)

Right now, I'm just confused at reading my body. It's literally making me crazy. I'd have some stools where it'd be easy done, easy go. Then there'd be some where multiple visits are required. Then there'd be some that just are minimal at best. Now I'm having ones where I'm mislead to think where I'm about to release gas and there's some bubbly feelings I get and all I'd get is gas. Sometimes I'd go in a string of every day to once every two days or once every three days or even once a week at best.

The shades are varied too, I've never experienced a black stool or an overly bloody stool. Shades of my stool go from dark brown to light brown to green color (mostly from the spinach greens I've ate that day or a day ago). The texture of my stools would also vary from floating to sinking to scattered to semi-hard but soft. Then it'd be snake like and ribbon like.

I'm getting so many mixed signals from my body now. What is it doing? Am I throwing too much at it or worrying too much to the point where I'm working myself up that whatever I do, doesn't work? I'm trying not to make it dependent on laxatives, that would suck. I'm sorry if I'm vague, but I've tried explaining it the best I can.

Hi Inpyrix and thank you for your detailed description of your situation. I assume that definitely your previous eating habits caused your intestinal disorder. It`s good that you want to change your health by changing your diet and not depend on laxatives or pharma treatments. I did the same thing when I had chronic diarrhea. My life sucked, I went to so many doctors but none could help me. I started to try to heal myself doing a lot of research about my disorder. While doing that I found Dr. Brandeis and his intestinal repair protocol online which finally helped me, just google it. It's great, I totally recommend it! All the best to you!
