I was just diagnosed with stage 1 kidney disease but I don’t understand why?

Hi everyone! I was just diagnosed with kidney disease by a nephrologist today but I don’t understand why. I’m a 25 year old female, weight 110, height 63 inches. My BUN is 11. My creatinine is .8 and my GFR is 102.5. I only have one kidney (born that way) and over the past years I’ve visibloy peed blood quite a few times and most every urinalysis shows trace blood. I don’t see how these levels would indicate kidney disease though? She said the creatinine is high for someone my age but it’s in range so, I’m just very confused lol Can anyone explain?

The 1st 2 sites via Google when inserting stage 1 kidney disease provide a consistent answer. One is an NHS site. In brief, they categorise you as stage 1 even with normal GFR because they believe there's a related issue. I suggest you ask what it is in your case. I wouldn't worry but the other site lists things you can do to reduce kidney disease. If not moderated, that link is https://www.davita.com/kidney-disease/overview/stages-of-kidney-disease/stage-1-of-chronic-kidney-disease/e/4745
