what is wrong with me?

About 2 weeks ago (28th feb) while laying in my bed watching tv, i started to get a severe pain in my lower back at the left side it came out of nowhere and it was very painful. Before that I had been urinating frequently and I had a pain in my left side for a couple of days. Im a 15 year old girl and I have been prone to kidney infections for a few months now and I had been to the doctor and he just told me to drink cranberry juice and take paracetamol.

The pain didn't go away and the next day (1st march) my mom took me to the emergency doc and I did a urine sample but it was clear. He gave me an antibiotic called CIPLOX and told me to drink more cranberry juice and water to flush out my kidneys and said I probably did have a kidney infection because when he checked my stomach I was very "tender" where I had pain. the antibiotic was a 5 day course and on the 5th day I went back to him again as I had no relief at all from the CIPLOX and I was feeling worse.

He sent me to the emergency room at the hospital (I was told there by a nurse there that I had the symptoms of pyelonephritis) I was kept for 5 days in the childrens ward under the care of a consultant paediatrician. Over those 5 days I did many urine samples (which all came back negative with just some protein in some) my bloods and stools were ok too and I did 2 x rays and an ultrasound but everything came back normal (thank god) but I still had pain. In the hospital they gave me strong painkillers that were called ZODAL or something (im not sure) but they took away the pain for a few hours and then it would come back. He also got a orthopedic doctor to check my back and legs etc and he told me everything was normal and that he thought i had an UTI infection.

The consultant paediatrician doctor at the hospital was nice and did all the necessary tests I needed, but my mom and I felt he didn't really know what was wrong with me (and wouldn't listen)
and on the 5th day he discharged me telling me I had a muscular pain in my back (after the orthopedic doctor telling us it wasn't a muscular pain as he found nothing wrong) and to drink water. He also ordered physiotherapy. We found it all very confusing as my mom and I thought I either had cystitis/uti/kidney infection.(so did some nurses in the hospital) I had spent 5 days there and we were very disappointed and disheartened to be told this because my mom and the nurses had suggested he put me on IV antibiotics to kill the infection as i still had all the symptoms of kidney/bladder infection but he was adamant i had no infection because my urine kept coming back negative. He told me to keep taking the ZODAL at home for about 10 days and stop drinking cranberry juice that was it.

i was discharged 3 days ago now and when I left the hospital my mom wasn't happy and brought me back to our GP. He examined me again and I was still very tender and sore in the same areas. My urine was negative again (NO surprise there!) He told us I might have cystitis and he told me to buy CYSTOPURIN over the counter and take it for 3 days, and to go back to him next week if i still have pain etc.
Today is the last day of taking this treatment and i still have pain in my back (im still taking the painkillers the consultant prescribed) urinating frequently and now when i need to go to the toilet i feel the urge to go and then when i go only a small drop of pee comes out (sorry i don't know how to word it any other way) I also have a burning feeling when I urinate and i feel crap, im tired but my appetite over this whole sickness has been ok and my bowels are working normally.

this is going on for a while now and im really worried. I know its not serious but is it possible i have a severe bladder/kidney infection or something even though my urine is negative/clear? My mom is worried too and we feel if I was put on the antibiotics that time last week I would be ok now. I would appreciate ANYONES opinion as I don't know what to do. I have missed lots of school with this and I just want to feel better already. I dont want to end up back in hospital again but I know its a possibility. PLEASE HELP ME :(

I think this seems like an infection and would agree with  The nurses that they should have most probably put you on some antibiotics. I have learned sometimes (make that many times) nurses will be Able to dx an illness better than Dr.s. When I first had the mild but consistent pain in my mid-section a nurse friend was spot on told me might be something with kidney. I went to my PCP guy put on EKG which came back normal, & couldn't find problem tho I had elevated blood pressure, very unusual for me and body size at that (120 lbs). He said due to aging it could be high blood press. Didn't need a rocket scientist and I didn't agree with him. I ended up going to ER where many tests were done and referred me to Urologist, which is the specialist I would recommend you see.

Try and stop some juices that might aggravate you kidney in case its Cystitis. But get to someone that can help ASAP to preserve your kidney.
Also I have found not all Urologists are the same: If you are female look for one specializing in female urology issues, if male vice versa. I learned this when a so called Dr. Couldn't help me or didn't know how and kept giving me the run around sending me to a test facility he had interests in. Till I found another

Best!
(Have had some kidney issues myself hence the knowledge).
