What are the risks of not treating a stone near your Ureter/Bladder junction?

Hi -  A recent CT scan told me that I have a 6mm stone near the junction of my Ureter and Bladder (UVJ). I had experience moderate to severe pain as the stone has passed from my left Kidney down through the Ureter. I've been advised to see a Urologist and I am looking for one. I dont have any pain at the moment or any other obvious urinary issues. I am seeking some advice to understand the risks of leaving it untreated for a few more weeks/months before considering any type of intervention (whether SWL or anything else that the Urologist might suggest).   Thanks in advance for your input.

Kind Regards
Rajeev
