Hi every body,19 month ago i had 3 swollen lymph nodes on my neck the largest one was 5 cm with high lymphocytes 6400 after taking antibiotics the largest one became 2 cm the ultrasound that it is reactive nodes about one month i read in Google that swollen lymph nodes could be cancer could lymphoma i went to doctor again she asked me to do abdominal and neck ultra sound the result came back reactive lymph nodes and same size no growing in size.. I want to ask could it be lymphoma any help my mine will kill me

No, it is not lymphoma. The main reason the lymph nodes do not go back down in size as they should is that they become filled with scar tissue ("fibrosis") from fighting the infection.

You also probably have an over reactive immune system. That can contribute to anxiety.

That is really, really big. So big that if there were lymphoma in the node, it would have wiped out the fatty hilum long ago. So it is reactive, but why?

Any chest/lung problems? Have you had a chest x-ray and skin test for tuberculosis?

No problems i do not make any x ray or ct cause doctir said that ultra sound is conclusive and blood test became normal and said to me that the node reduced to 2 cm after i treat a cyst on my gum.. Do u think that i would be worry?

The cyst makes pus on my teeth for 4 months without any treat cause i cut the nurve of teeth then my temperature increased to 37.7 and find three lymph nodes i went to doctor said to me to make cbc and esr and ultrasound cbc small increase in lymphocytes and esr was 25 and ultra sound reactive he said to me there is an infection i remebered my teeth i complete my teeth work and takes antibiotics the largest one 4.9 cm is reduced completely to 2cm after making ultrasound again after 22 month my worries return to destroy my mind i went to doctor again to ask why lymph nodes still appear she asked me to make ultra soound again but this time on my neck and abdominal my abdominal ultra sound was nirmal with normal spleen and no lymph nodes appears but my neck appear multiple lymph nodes all reactive and fatty hilae and normal in shape my doctor advise me to forget it and go on but i suffer from  obsessive compulsive disorder and take medicine.. I know that i repeat the story and i ask u many questions sorry for that but  could u advise me what can i do? Do u think it could be lymphoma?

Hi, if the ultrasound says it is reactive then there's no reason to think it is lymphoma. But 5cm is very large, are you sure that was the size?
