posterior cervicsl swollen lymph node

Hey, Im 20 years old, about 1 week n a half ago i noticed my neck on the left side was a little larger then my right i have sum pain on the left side of my neck and jaw., i searched on the net and found out its my posterior cervicsl lymph node,  it hasnt increased in size its swollen, u can only tell if u look close.. Ive been told for years from dentists that my wisdom teeth have to be removed and 4 weeks before the swelling apeared i went to the dentist and the dentist gave me antibiotics for my wisdom teeth and urged me to set an apointment to get them removed. I didnt take the antiobiotics because I had no pain and i didnt set an apointment to remove them because i cannot afford it. Is it possible that my posterior cervicsl chain lymph nodes on the left side are swollen due to an impacted wisdom tooth on the bottom left side? which would explain why I feel some pain in my jaw on the left side.

Please let me know what u think.
and how can i measure the size of the swollen lymph node?

glad to have been of some help

this is a matter of what is probable, versus what is unlikely. Don't get alarmed if pain and/or swelling happens to return. That'd just be the infection acting up because it might be difficult for the antibiotic to get to that deep area. Good luck :)

Thanks alot TonyRob for your help, i was to scared to go to the hospital because of the results I got on google by searching swollen neck lymph node. I was scared it could be heart disease or a tumour or hiv. What mainly got me scared was when HIV popped up when i searched (swollen neck lymph node) I have girlfriend I love and have been with for 2 years, I deffenetly dont want HIV could you imagine not only ******* my life up but hers too. U know what i mean?

> should I be worried?

nope, it seems very minor to me - and the supplements don't cause this

but make sure you always finish an entire course of antibiotics once you start

don't worry, you're fine

I looked at pictures on google of swollen lymph nodes and my lymph node is not huge. u can honestly can barely tell,  it just looks like my neck sticks out a little more on the left then the right,  theres no bump on my neck it just looks like my veins are a little swollen on the left side, if i turn my neck to the right u can c what looks like veins stickin out. theres not huge balls on my neck just what looks to be swollen veins around the area of my lymph node.

As for my wisdom teeth, no matter what they have to be removed theres not enough room for them to come out the dentist said. hopefully this is whats causing the swelling.

Could this also be caused due to (creatine, protein.testosterone) supplements I take? Im very active and work out daily, since ive noticed the swelling in my neck ive stopped taking my supplements just incase its due to that.

since ive noticed the swelling in my neck there hasnt been any increase in size,
I also think the swelling is going down since I started taking my antibiotics & iburorifeen a few days ago. No major changes but no increase in size and it appears to be going down slowly.

should I be worried? I have no fever, no soar throat. Sum minor headaches(which could be from wisdom teeth) since ive started taking the antibiotics and iburprofeen ive experience some diahara & some stomach pain is this normal?
if it was some sort of serious infection would it be more noticable? Only way people can tell is if i show them closely

sure. It's not only possible, but likely. Btw, I'd take yogurt with the antibiotics. But I wouldn't get teeth removed unless absolutely necessary.

I think you can work up a rough approach that would detect a big change. Have someone mark it for you with a marker pen. Then measure the span of the marks with a plain ruler. If it's not round, then take 2 measurements: the long way and the other way. Have the same person do it again in future. Burt I don't think you really need to worry about it being lymphoma.
