Elevated Liver Enzyme (ALT)

Went to the Dr's due to foot pain (ended up being Plantar fasciitis), and they drew my blood just because I had not had my blood drawn in a long time.

My ALT liver enzyme came out to be a 99 (normal is 5-55). My AST enzyme was normal. All other blood tests were normal, including urine test. Dr said it's probably fatty liver since I am 5'6" and weigh 246 pounds. Wants me to come back in 6 months to retest my blood.

My cholesterol and blood pressure was normal.

I am having some really high anxiety over this... I am having IBS and poor appetite along with muscle weakness. I literally can't stop thinking about how this could be something more serious.

I don't show any other signs or symptoms other than the IBS, muscle weakness, and poor appetite. And that all really started when the Dr called me and told me my liver test was abnormal on April 25th.

No dark urine, no jaundice, no blood IN stool (I have had a hemorrhoid for years though, so I do occasionally have blood in the toilet).

Does anyone else have any insight on this? How common is an elevated ALT liver enzyme?

Common in fatty liver also those numbers are not that high. High numbers would be at least 500 if not above 1000 your number is not signicantly above normal
