6mm lung nodule one in each lung

I was told 2 weeks ago I have one 6mm lung nodule in the lower part of each lung. I am so scared. I am crying everyday.  I am former smoker now but it hasnt been very long since i did quit smoking. I dont know what to do, i am going for 2nd ct scan in 4 months but that doesnt get rid of the fear. What happens if it is cancer from smoking then what? What is the 5year survival rate i have read about with lung cancer? Whats the percentage of chance that it is cancer i have researched this and came up with several answers? My ct scan just states 6mm nodularity doesnt say calcified or noncalcified why wouldnt it say one way or the other im very upset over all this. I need some way to get out of this depression im in since i got these results. Nodules found while scanning for pulmonary embolism. I also have problems with tachycardia and im undergoing tests for this also both these issues came up at the same time so my depression is severe i am almost to point of asking physician for depression meds and will do so if things are not better by Monday. Please if theres anyone out there that can answer these questions i would really appreciate it. I dont want to continue to cry for the next 4 months.

You certainly are not alone.  I recommend that you visit our family doctor and tell him/her about your depression.  I had only 3 weeks to cry, and I was already taking a generic form of Lexapro.  Your Pulmonary Specialist should be able to answer your questions about the nodules.  A PET Scan will reveal whether the nodules are calcified or not and should reveal whether the nodules are malignant.  Most nodules will show growth if they are malignant.  If the Pulmonary Specialist can't tell you any of this, find another doctor!
