diagnosed in 2010, new nodule found???

I was diagnosed with stage 2b nsc lung cancer in July 2010, had lobectomy left lower, chemo every 3 weeks for 4 mos. Had a CT scan 2 wks ago & my oncologist just found a new 5mm nodule- (not there 3 mos ago) .  Am I at a higher risk of this new one being malignant?

Thanks for the information.   The new nodule is 5mm;  I have another MRI scheduled in July to check for any changes.  All we know so far is that it wasn't on my scan 9 months ago.

Hi,
What are the symptoms present? The presence of new nodule warrants further evaluation by your doctor. The chance of this being malignant depends on a variety of factors such as size and character of the nodule and its histopathology. It is best that you discuss the result with your attending physician for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
