I had 6 biopsy's done. they came out negative for carsenoma (dont know if I spelled that correctly) but the lung specialist said it was cancer, the heart dr says its not. the lung dr said he was a specialist in his field just as the cardiologist is a specialist in his, and it was his opinion that it will turn into cancer. I was told to retest have another 5-6 lung biopsy's done. but the first time, it scared me really bad and i run the risk of death as it is an invasive procedure. I think i am going to have it done and request it be sent to the ketterling/sloan cancer institute. the lung dr said my lungs are littered with extensive bilateral nodules infiltrates.....meaning its everywhere. knowone has ever suggested kee-mo therapy/radiation? why? please please help me if you can!!
Hi,
Cement dust would contain silica and this can be related to the development of lung cancer. A problem with this risk factor is the difficulty in quantifying what constitutes a significant amount in relation to the occupational exposure.
If there are findings in the lung already in the imaging study, then you could discuss the possibility of doing a biopsy with the doctor in order to confirm if there is cancer or not. If the findings are equivocal, then a discussion of a surveillance period would be in order.
