I don't know how often Gaucho checks in here; you might want to send him a private message (PM) by clicking 'inbox' in the upper right corner of the screen; he might be more likely to see that.
Hi
Have posted my results on here, my Dr says I have a lyme co infection and has sent me scripst for 4 lots of antibiotics...
I haven't put them in to the chemist yet, as I am going to get a 2nd opinion before I take them.
With what everyone has said on here, (both sides) about aussies not being able to get lyme, etc, I'm more confused now then ever.
I'm hoping someone on here can shed some light on my results..
Thanks will keep eye out for your post.
I spoke to my Dr today and igenex still has not faxed the sheet through with the numbers, and there is a time difference between here and there also.
So hopefully they will have it tomorrow.
Will let you know
I agree Jackie, I really dont understand the CDC criteria.. but for some reason most LLMD doctors make you send the blood samples to IgeneX.... right? I rather look at what IgX says, otherwise why send them there?... i think IgX is the most reliable lab for a reason...
Melissa, in other words, I think I do have Lyme, I will keep you all posted whenever I see my doctor...thats going to be this week.
IgM indicates a current or recent infection; IgG indicates an older or dormant infection. It's a question of timing, not a question of infection.
The starred bands are, to my understanding, the ones to look at for the Lyme determination.
Band 23-25 detects outer surface protein C (OspC), which is specific to Lyme -- meaning no other infection will cause a positive on this band
Band 31 detects outer surface protein A (OspA) -- see above re OspC, same meaning
Band 34 detects outer surface protein B (OspB) -- ditto
Band 39 detects a major protein of the Lyme bacterium's whip-tail, so this is specific to Lyme and shows in no other disease
Band 41 detects any spiral shaped bacteria, so may be Lyme, may not be Lyme
Band 83-93 detects only Lyme bacteria bits and pieces
---------------------------
The difference between the IGeneX 'yes, you have Lyme' and the CDC 'no you don't have Lyme' is how many of the bands are needed to call it an overall positive. I have never read a CDC explanation for why some positive bands don't count, if they are specific to Lyme.
Looks like Lyme to me, but I'm NOT medically trained. See what your doc says.
Yes will post my results when I get them, have asked for them to be emailed to me.
So with your last post does igenex say your positive for lyme and another group say your negative???
Thanks
I will hear from my Dr today, hopefully very soon, with my results, and hopefully igenex has refaxed through the bit of paper that come through blank.
I don't understand those numbers at all, and the bands and all that, so does that mean you have lyme???
Melissa
Hi Melissa, sorry I just read this thread. Well I received the results. They performed the Western Blot IgM, IgG, ELISA, Whole Blood, PCR... and it came back all negative except for the Western Blot IgG according to IgeneX its positive, according to CDC criteria Im negative... so that's something, isn't it?
I will post it here so you can see:

can you post your results? what do you think about mine? I have a doctors appointment this week, I will probably have to fly to USA since I live in Argentina and got infected when I was living in USA.... at least all my symptoms started when I was living in Houston...
Gaucho posted a message about the same time you did.
How did you go with igenex, did you get any results back yet??
Melissa
I never thought to single this out as a symptom, but I've had the same feeling of eye motion causing dizziness or disorientation. For awhile I would also get vertigo when I turned my head. For the latter, I think I have a minor misalignment in my neck that got exacerbated by all of the inflammation from the Lyme. As for eye movement making me dizzy, I guess that also seems like an inflammation issue. I had my eyes checked by an opthamologist while sick and my eyes were structurally fine, so other than inflammation I don't know what to blame.
Hope you feel better.
Hi, I also have some similar sensations at times. I get a weird feeling behind my eyes that makes me feel a little "off". Although, it actually makes me feel better to look down rather than up. I have had off and on head pressure, ear ringing, and many, many symptoms. From what I have read from others, they sound like symptoms of Lyme. It seems we all have our own strange list of symptoms, we just experience them all a little different. It's all very strange! Good luck, take care.

Hello Melissa I also have that type of eye dizziness, i know exactly what you mean, I have no diagnosis right now, but I sent blood samples to Igeenx Today. What test did your doctor order for you? In my case I ordered Complete Lyme panel... What is cd57? should I have ordered that too????
