Herxing WITHOUT being treated?

I'm wondering if I am herxing even though I am not being treated for anything at this point (docs think it isn't lyme but I am not convinced).

I am having a stiff neck and other issues, but I noticed that it seems to be feeling a bit better and at night I am sweating and when I wake up the sweat smells BAD.

Can your body mount a response and be trying to kill off these buggers even if you aren't on any treatment per se? I am trying to eat VERY cleanly and am using coconut milk/oil, etc... Just a thought... was wondering what you all though.

I definitely had my symptoms wax and wane before I was on treatment, kind of in a "relapse-remitting" pattern.  So while this is different from a Herx, you may be experiencing cycles in your symptoms, as many Lyme patients due.  As a woman, I especially would experience a worsening of my symptoms around my period.

Night sweats are a symptom of a variety of ailments.  Brucellosis produces a distinctive smelling sweat, likened to wet hay.

Google Jarisch-Herxheimer and read up on what a "herx" is. Hint: it's the reaction when bacteria are dying your body AFTER starting treatment.

I have never heard of a herx without taking anything. It usually happens in response to an antibiotic or herb. You could just get feeling worse at different times of the day.
