I've been sick with a range of symptoms for 75 days now. After doctors scratching their heads for two months, I was told two days ago that I had positive results on the Western Blot IgM:41,39,34,23 IgG:93/83,67,58,41. I also tested positive for Babesia microti IgG 1.38 Pos:>=1.11
I was started on doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 28 days and then recheck Feb 15th.
Some of my symptoms I've been having since December include raised vein near the ear on the left side, headache near eye, pressure when leaning forward, mild pain and pressure from eye to jaw. The last 6 days both of my arms were very tired and weak. Today, they are slightly better. I have mild shoulder and neck pain on the left side. My question is, could this be temporal arteritis? It feels very much like it could be. Back in December I had blood work done for ESR and CRP. ESR was normal and CRP was low. I saw a rheumatologist who said he doesn't think I have it. I think it was mostly because of my age; I just turned 30 two weeks after I got sick. I know that the blood tests only show inflammation markers and a biopsy is much better at diagnosing. If I do have it, how would it be treated? I can't take steroids since I started antibiotics for Lyme. I'm very worried about this due to all the symptoms.
