Please do NOT post here any MD's names

Because there is a split in the medical community about how serious Lyme disease is (or isn't) and how to diagnose and treat it, it is safer for the docs NOT to be identified by name in the open here.

Medical boards who think a case of Lyme is about as serious as the sniffles can cause a Lyme doc's medical license to be challenged and even suspended or revoked, and then we end up with fewer Lyme docs.

If you want to recommend or comment on a doc to another poster here, please send a *private message* through this website so that the doc's name is not seen by everyone.  No, it's not a foolproof protection, but every little bit helps.

If you need help figuring out how to send a private message, post back to this message.

Thank you!

Thanks Nikko for that info. Jackie, no need to feel paranoid. My old LLMD from VA got her license taken away for helping lymies

I go to Mexico every winter.
Their medical system is fairly unregulated.
If things get worse, maybe a few good LLMDs can open a Lyme's clinic
on the Pacific coast of Mexico, somewhere nice, warm & safe.
I know a few great spots, lol!
And drugs (prescription) there are much cheaper, too!

Niko,

Thank you for the data.  I start sounding paranoid even to myself sometimes, but whaddaya know, sometimes it's warranted.

.... and this is exactly what concerns me as the US govt takes over 'management' of the US medical system.

Where do we go for Lyme treatment then?

Hey Jackie, very well put, indeed.

Unfortunately there's no split in the medical community in Canada.
It's 100% unsafe for doctors north of the US border to treat chronic Lyme's.

In 2008, there were only 2 doctors in Ontario willing to treat Ontarians suffering with Chronic Lyme disease.
By 2010, Dr. Krop from Mississauga, Ontario, was forced to retire by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
This left Dr. Baghadlian, a North York, Ontario, infectious disease doctor to treat Ontarians with Chronic Lyme disease.
However, by March of 2011, Dr. B was also under investigation by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, leaving his patients with no choice but seek treatment elsewhere.

I had recommended Dr. B to a few patients, however, the last 2 could not
see him b/c the College had already started their investigation  :(

Cheers,
Niko
