Welcome to MedHelp --

I don't recall that SpeedSneed has posted here for several years, so you may want to do one or both of the following:

-- click on his screen name (speedsneed) and click 'send a message', and then copy your message above and send it to him in message form.  It will be forwarded to his email address that he used when registering here, and will reach him if he is still using that email address.

-- start a new message thread up above, where the orange-colored button says 'post a question'.  Then post a query similar to the one you have put above, but without reference to speedsneed, so that others who may have had the same experience will see it and perhaps have suggestions for you.

Lyme has many symptoms, and it is not uncommon that we are all affected differently, partly due to the fact that the Lyme ticks carry other infections about half the time, which confuses the diagnostic picture, and also that we can each have different symptoms even without co-infections, because Lyme can mess with our immune systems in odd way.

If that approach doesn't work, post back, and we'll brainstorm some more.

Again, welcome -- take care --

Richard, It is now 2013 and a post of your that I just read is dated 2009. Did you ever find out about the burning on your scalp and terrible pain. I feel the same as you. That I just can not continue living this way with this pain. Did it go away for you and if so, do you know what caused it and what treatment did you get. I surely hope you of someone in the community can help me. I feel so terribly hopeless and disturbed.

I have neurological issues with my back and head, whats called parasthesia, it's a pins and needles prickling anywhere on back or head.  It is exasperated by me being active, hot or stressed.  I have also had these kind of dull scalp pains that if I press a few fingers on the spot and massage real hard it tends to alleviate the ache, wierd...also loosing my hair pretty bad on the top sides of head.  I was just coloring my hair and can't believe how sparce the hair is in spots.  I wonder what lesions are and if that is a possibility, I don't get bad headaches very often or anything like that.  I'll tell you though this Lyme, Fibromyaglia, Menopause is the ^&%+  Nobody but other Lymies tend to know what you are feeling or understand.  Love and Hugs to all.

Hi -- I just did a quick google search for "lyme tingling scalp" and got a lot of hits.  You can also see in the 'Related discussions' box on this screen a lot of people have had something similar.

Have you seen a Lyme specialist lately?  Sounds like your other docs maybe aren't familiar with Lyme.

I have a strange rash that gets lighter and then darker on my forehead and extends back into the scalp. It looks a bit like ring worm or the Lupus rash. It does not respond to ringworm meds or anything else I've tried and I have tried EVERYTHING. It is subtle so the doctors don't seem to care about it. I do though! Sometimes my scalp also feels sore in spots and sometimes puffy. Sometimes it tingles like crazy. It feels like little critters but there is nothing there. I was dxd w/lyme in 2005 and much better now but still residual issues.

I have it as well...and have for years. I was diagnosed with Lyme so I don't know if it is something that will go away but I am sure it's a symptom of Lyme...maybe will go away with treatment!

I started to believe it was an enviromental problem as there is some crop dusting goes on I think they do it on the grape vines and I live near the Vineyards, also Lyme seems to come up with some sufferers .

I have burning at the crown of my scalp, on and off.  It's irritating, and I don't understand it.  I have no idea what causes this, but just know you are not the only one:)

My burning has receded a lot now but I am aware its still there a bit when I brush my hair it feels irritated, I started to use very mild shampoos and non allergic ones, and also some stuff from the drug store called scalp-itch I found that helped stop the worst of it. Have you checked out your shampoos ,conditioners etc, I also get Hives I thought they were connected, like others here I am checking to see if I have Lyme disease, but I dont know as a test I had was Negative, apparently that is common. As wonko has asked give us an idea of any other symptoms you are getting.

Do you have, or do you suspect that you have, Lyme disease?  What other symptoms do you have, and what tests for other conditions have been done?

Hi, My Name is Richard, from London in the UK.

I must stress the fact so many of us here have this problem with the Burning Pain across the scalp, behind our ears, at the base of our skulls etc and nothing yet is working is terrible!... I am 22 and lived with constant headaches now for almost 6 years. The burning pain began after 2 years of headaches and i have seen every good Neurologist here in the UK all over London and spent thousands on treatments from all over the place!...

Please can we all get in proper contact to try and sort this out. All of our lives are effected, personally i don't want to live anymore if the Doctors can't or won't be able to stop this irritating burning itching pain all over my head now!...

lets see what we can do together.

Best Wishes to you all, i am 22 and i cannot bare any of this anymore!
Richard

I am so happpy you have it aswell....oh dear I dont mean it like that really, but it is good to know it may be part of it ,the scalp has settled dwon a bit but if I brush it too much I am aware of that tingling, when it first started it was unbearable,I tried very shampoo OTC for it thought I had a allergy , I dont drink now at all as even when I had a galss of wine I would break out in a rash and feel bad I thought it was allergies, then found this froum and I thought we catt possibly have the same symptoms.

I don't have hives, but my scalp tingles a lot.  It can feel as though the creepy/crawly feeling penetrates my head, it is very distracting.  I stopped drinking over a year ago--with all of the strange symptoms, I was no longer comfortable with alcohol.  I'm not sure I'm really more sensitive to it, or simply lost the desire to have it.

I had scalp burning for a long time. It was like someone was pouring boiling water on it.  I still have a fair amount of tingling but the burning is not so bad now.

I get the same blend of symptoms in various locations, including the scalp, but when the sensations are on the scalp they are more irritating.

I have not had any scalp problems [touch wood] - but I can relate to - not being able to drink alcohol - after very small amount - I feel quite 'drunk' and have 'hangover' type feeling the following day !!

PS I think I read here a while back that alcohol affects one also, I find I cant have one glassof wine , I thought I was allergic to that or the Sulphates in it, do you have that experience?
