same problem:-( no cure :-( help pls
Yes it is strange....like everything else related to this horrible disease!
re thermography instead of mammography
I've done some reading on this and talked to my doctor, who gave me the predictable response ('no studies have been done on it.') The theory as I understand it is that cancer cells emit heat that the thermography picks up before xray mammography can see the deranged cells. Interesting theory, would be interested in more information on it, maybe on a new thread/different forum.
No, no flushing except in the face, and it was splotchy and rashy looking, but not hot.
It was spread adross my nose and cheeks and between eyebrows, but only showed up when I was just out of a hot shower -- and pre-Lyme, I never had a rash like that. Funny thing I never figured out: across the bridge of my nose, there was a thin white line in the middle of the rash, just the size and location of the metal bridge of my glasses, that never got red, and my glasses don't touch there. Never figured that out.
I still often have a small splotch of redness between my eyebrows that comes and goes. No other rashes. Strange, huh?
Jackie,
Did you get red flushing on different areas of your body? I can get sudden red, hot areas on one foot, one hand or both hands and feet and/or my face. They last about an hour then go back to their usual icy state.
ott70,
I have heard about CRT for mammography. Two women I met told me they had that done. I don't really know much about it but it sure would be nice to have a reliable test without being exposed to radiation. I will check out the links you posted.
Low body temp is considered an epidemic by some doctors. The low body temp let's some bugs, like lyme, thrive in your body. When I get chills, usually cold fingers and toes, I end up having a flare of some type. Most of the time. When my body temp is doing okay, I generally have less symptoms.
I would have night sweats once in awhile also and never a fever when I was feeling hot.
Computerized Regulation Thermography (CRT) is an interesting technology that tests points along your body and tells a doctor what organs are not running at an optimal temperature. I had this done a couple of months ago and a lot of my organs were running "cold".

CRT is recognized as a better method for breast exams versus mammography.
That's interesting -- I used to get night sweats before I was treated for Babesia, and since then (now that I have 'only' Lyme), I get chills sometimes, but pretty much no sweats.
And as you say, never a fever.
I also get chills and sweats but never have a fever. I also read about the temperature center in the brain as JackieCalifornia stated above.
I've read that Lyme hijacks the portion of your brain that controls body temperature, because the bugs like it chilly inside.
My body temp was consistently in the 96 degree range until treatment began to kick in, and now I'm up in the 97 degree range generally. Everybody else thinks the house is overheated, and just when I'm feeling comfortable, somebody turns the thermostat down!
I've also read that using a hot tub regularly is helpful in bug-bashing, but don't have one and so haven't tried it. Sauna would work too probably; think about sweathouses used by some Indian tribes.
I get chills with goosebumps at random times. They tend to be very uncomfortable..like when you hear nails on a chalk board.

I only seem to get this early morning even in CA with covers on I feel chilly, never had it during the day, I just get more clothes on and it goes away , my worst syptom is insomnia , tried everything you can think of to be able to say asleep ,some nights arent too bad but the ones I wake 2-3 times within a few hours out weigh that.
