sorry I forgot to put in the parenthesis (not conservatives and moderate democrats).
Plateletgirl,
I never said that he inherited this mess. I said he came into a mess in the economy which he knew of and also was apart of as a Senator. He voted for pork projects and in fact he had many of his own waste as well. So, to say that he inherited it is wrong. He came into this mess knowing good and well of what he and others voted on and passed under the former President. So, they all caused the problems. In fact, some senators and congress members did warn of these problems but they were ingnored and pushed to the wayside by Liberals and Republicans (not conservatives).
Obama is going to eventually have to get some balls and deal with these issues head on. Otherwise we will end up in World War III. If we think that the UN and having talks and more talks with these countries that pose a threat is the only way to have peace; then we are doomed for failure. I don't like war and would not want to see our men and women in more harm but we are letting our guard down and these countries know it. That is why we have so many threats coming our way from these countries.
This is what Obama stated two months ago in France:
"Should North Korea decide to take this action, we will work with all interested parties in the international community to take appropriate steps to let North Korea know that it can't threaten the safety and security of other countries with impunity," the president said at a news conference in the French city of Strasbourg.
He said his administration has "made very clear to the North Koreans that their missile launch is provocative. It puts enormous strains on the six-party talks and that they should stop the launch."
But, the president added, "The response so far from the North Koreans has been not just unhelpful, but has resorted to the sort of language that has led to North Korea's isolation in the international community for a very long time."
We'll now it's the third missle they launched and still nothing is being done. What now President Obama?
Yes I would agree that Bush did not create this but the practices of some corporations do need to be regulated and that is one reason for what is happenning but it started before Bush. When a major company downsizes its workers and "outsources" I would not think they have much respect for American workers or America at all. I know President Obama spoke out against this but I don't know if he worked to create legislation. American profits deserve to go to Americans and be generated by American workers. In the past American workers in say an auto factory had a good job for life and within the practices of capitalist competition. Whatever company made a better product did better but the profits went to America. I would not say the United States is to blame for the global reccession but extreme practices of globalization are part of it. This can get side tracked as the reccession and economics in general are a seperate debate but when the economy takes a downturn on a global scale politics destabilize and that can't help any of this process to say the least.
"Get over it."
There's nothing to get over, Melissa. You blame the Democrats for the recession and that is simply not true.
You are right... Obama inherited the mess we are in now. At least we agree on that. And I think he's doing a terrific job, especially given the circumstances. He gets an A+ in my book.
Believe what you want; it was not all one person that caused all the issues. Get over it. And, I am sorry I mistated that; Liberals were most of the problem. Their extreme spending and greed were the real problem. But, of course some Republicans do this as well. So, politicians and what Teko stated; "corporate greed" are to blame. But, I would not expect you to understand this. You think that Bush caused this mess and if the world would end today; That would be Bush's fault as well. I did not say that Obama was the cause of all the problems. In fact, he came into the mess but remember he was a Senator and he was definitely aware of all the issues and he agreed to run for President and take it on. So, as far as I and many others are concerned, he cannot blame someone else for all the issues in the economy and the world today. He is supposed to be helping the economic crisis not adding more to it.
