If a keloid, be careful cause I was told by my dermatologist that some of the o-t-c kits can make a scar much worse looking than it is now .. and some of my scars they actually won't even touch cosmetically since not as bad as they could be I've been told...scars from prior surgeries elsewhere which are prominent.

I'm not really sure what it's from, sorry. I pretty much agree with margypops. I have two little scars on my wrist from breaking it over the summer and having 2 pins put in and taken out. I know it has nothing to do with your situation, but I have an idea on how to get rid of it. My hand therapist said to use vitamin E oil on the scars. You are supposed to massage it in for about 1-3 minutes. That is supposedly suppose to make the scar less noticeable. Now for the raising, the therapist told me to put paper tape on the scar. It sounds goofy, but it's supposed to help to flatten out the scar. I'm sure that what my hand therapist told me, should work just as well for your scar. Good luck!

Gee, don't know .. I'd try dermatology, too, but in the meantime .. my scar is hardly visible from 10 yrs ago .. I really have to look hard ... could it be a keloid that maybe is irritated or infected?

Could it be irritated by some clothing you are wearing or some cream /lotion you have been using, maybe a good idea to get it checked out, by the way you landed on the MH Social forum, maybe get a better answer on Dermatology forum .......Good Luck
