Hunting season
Anyone here hunt? Does anyone here not hunt but looks forward to eating whats brought home?

My husband took my 15 yr old out for early youth hunt last weekend ( MICH ) and the kid got his first deer a doe a good sized one too, my freezers all full of meat, and we had venison burgers (we mix the venison with some pork fat ) for dinner

dnr gave my son a patch my first kill with a dead deer on it I though that was a bit weird but probably just cause Im the mom and I dont hunt.

I don't hunt but I am from the uk so I should be excused lol.
I do think though that maybe I am a bit of an hipocrite because I like meat (well cooked)
but if we had to kill the meat we eat I am sure I would be a vegetarian.

well until i got sick i lived in the woods, hunted everything from dove to deer, lots of time i didnt really care if i killed anything just loved being in the woods, my dad started me and all my brothers hunting when we were 7 yrs old.didnt get to carry a gun till we were 10.. i would rather eat venison the beef any day.. cook my up some alien

I learned an unloaded gun is more deadly than a loaded one YIKESS!!!!!!! but that rule is so true
I have ZERO tolerance for people who do not follow the rules. My dad always told us how important it was to follow the rules and to always respect others property. He also said to treat every gun as if it was a loaded one.
I hunt by the rules at all times
We target shoot out on our property in North Carolina, but we don't allow any hunting out there.
I'm often hiking in those deep woods, and more than once there have been people illegally hunting on our property at the same time.
Its fine if you are hunting legally, where there is no danger of people being shot. But I don't want people shooting on my property.

My husband is teaching me how to stop dropping a gun. My hands are too small to carry one. He wants to teach me to shoot but without completing the task of keeping the gun in my hands it's impossible to learn how to shoot lol
The only thing I hunt is my cat when it's time to give him his meds. He runs for dear life when he sees the dropper lol.

Pheasant opener is this coming weekend and i will be missing it due to my broken foot. Sounds like i have Kitchen duty this year!!!! Yippee!!!!
