Our Animals

This may seem really odd, but I have to ask if others out there, who are animal nuts, do what hubby and I do.

We have 3 kitties---my babies. They are so unique in their personalities and they play hubby and I against each other--you know, much like children do.

Anyway, one will jump on my lap and I will start to talk to hubby and pretend to be her ( I realize that is disturbing on a whole other level, but bear with me). It will go something like "Daddy, can I have a can of wet food tonight?". Then hubby will answer her as "daddy" and this dialogue goes back and forth.

I mention this today because I got him a Father's Day card from the cats and I also got two nice Rib Eye Steaks and two Lobster Tails for dinner. The card was signed from the "girls" complete with paw prints. Don't misunderstand, I enjoyed the heck out of the dinner! Any excuse to celebrate works for me.

Is anyone out there willing to admit that they do this with their animals, or am I ready for the home......LOL

Count me in!

My house dog is our little girl.  I'm Momma.  Dad is Daddy. Son is Brother.  She goes most everywhere with me.  She's signes cards, etc.  As a matter of fact, I often make the comment that she thinks "we" are "her" pets!  lol

She shows exceptional respect for not only us; but, other's as well.

I have no children and so my cats are my children!  They are spoiled rotten.  Tom and I talk to them like they are our children - it's hilarious!  I gave my mother a Mother's Day card from the cats this year.  I didn't have time to get a Father's Day card for Tom from the cats this year though.  Normally, I do! LOL!!!!

my mom is this way with her dogs! We all laugh at her and tell her she treats the dogs better than she treated us! LOL LOL

I am not that bad with my animals but I still spoil them rotten, including my goat! ;-)

I have no children of my own, so my two dogs are my babies!  My husband sends me cards for all the occasions from them, be it Mothers day, my birthday etc., and I do the same to him.  When he comes home from work at night, all I have to say is "Daddy's home"  and they run to the door.  People that don't have pets cannot know the amount of love and happiness they give us and I am not ashamed of it at all, my friends know how much they mean to me and that's all that matters.

I thank you all for the laughs and grateful to know I am not nuts.

The dinner was delicious and the scraps went to the 3 kitties outside who live under my back porch.

Hey, I have 5 kids .. 4 human and 1 dog.   The dog is definitely like another child ... she's on my profile ...

How did the dinner turn out ?  And, who ate the scraps?

My animals and I have a very close relationship. I understand their needs and they know when I am down and they will do silly things to cheer me up. But I will never humanise them. Especially the dog. Dogs no matter how cutsey they can be, they can still turn on you or others and be dangerous. So I make sure the dog knows I am the boss, with some fun too.
My friend who lives with me, calls me my dog's Mummy..."Go see Mummy." I say..."I may be a b i t ch but I was born HUMAN!"  My friend tends to do the human things like..'Oh but she is soooo cold...' I say...SHE"S GOT FUR!  'But she is so cute...look at her wanting my steak...I'll just give her some" I say..."Yes and that is how she gained 20  pounds when I went away and you looked after her and never took her for a walk!"
I love my animals and would bawl my eyes out if anything bad happened!

When talking to our dog, we address each other as mommy and daddy. our children are grown now and Bo is the baby of the family.

lol hubby and i do that. she IS our daughter. lol. and our boys (our human children) are her brothers. they play quite nicely together. but i'll hold her and be like who loves her daddy? who wants daddy to rub her belly? and she'll actually meow and hubby/daddy rubs her belly. she may be furry and four legged but she's a member of the family. she has been since she was 2 weeks old (which she celebrated her 1st bday at the end of may. *sigh* they grow up so fast don't they?)

LOL, yeah, I have to admit, I treat my kitties just like they were human. I even bought a Fathers Day card for my dad and had them sign it, the card was "from the cat" and of course I gave him one too. They are my fur-babies.

I like to meow back at my cats. I will snuggle with them and lay down on the ground level. They seem to love it, but I'm sure I must look strange to anyone who catches glimpse of me laying like that.
