Bleeding 1 month after D&C and hysteroscopy

I had a D&C and hysteroscopy one month ago for post menopausal bleeding. Five polyps were removed. All was benign. I started bleeding again with moderate bleeding and cramping. What could be going on?  I do have call into my DR., but so far have not heard back.

I wonder if they didn't get the entire polyp (didn't get it at the base) hence the continued bleeding. But post-meno bleeding is actually more common than most realize. Diagnostics oftentimes cannot find a cause and it can be chalked up to sporadic ovarian / hormone activity. The ovaries do not shut down at menopause. They produce hormones a woman's whole life so bleeding is always a possibility. But the further you get out from that last period the less likely it would happen. Unfortunately, many women undergo hysterectomy unnecessarily for this reason as well as others.

Did you go a full year without a period and how long ago was that?

Hi Patti, welcome to the menopause forum.  Glad you made an appointment with your doctor. When is it?  You already had a D&C for post menopausal bleeding?
Had D&C on August 20.   Saw dr yesterday.  She wants me to Wait a month to see if the bleeding stops on its own. I’m not sure about that
Hm, ya.  You wouldn't think you'd still be bleeding but I think the alternative of whatever would come next in treatment may make a wait and see approach make sense. Take a good vitamin as you don't want to get anemic.  What a pain?  Is a D&C done for this or ablation? And is there talk of a hysterectomy?  That's major surgery but my sister in law had it done for post menopausal bleeding.
D&C done for post menopausal bleeding. Hysterectomy she is trying not to do.    But I feel I’m bleeding too much
What were the findings from the D&C? Any polyps or fibroids? Hyperplasia?

Hi,

I had both a D&C and hysteroscopy June 10th due to heavy heavy clotted bleeding for 3 weeks (which gave me anemia), it is now July 28th and I am still bleeding. Not heavily but spotting daily. I called the gyno, he wants me to have another pelvic and vaginal sonogram done by the end of the week. Let you know what he says when the results come in.
Hope everything turns out ok for you.
