How long does menopause take?

I feel like it has been going on for a century.  Wondering how long it normally takes and when do I say I've successfully moved passed menopause?

It has been about 3 or 4 years for me as well. I still have some of the symptoms but not as intense, I hate those hot flashes.

I'm thinking it has been 3 years.  lol.  And no sign of no period any time soon.  I thought maybe it would 'disappear' but no such luck.

I think it is safe to say you are past menopause when you have gone a complete 12 months with any bleeding or period.

Hello~Although there is a usual range for how long menopause symptoms last, each woman's journey is unique;  mine seemed to go on and on, but the transition often takes about four years, but some symptoms may last longer.
