I also had a hysterectomy. I won't lie; it was the worst day of my life! It is hard for the body to regulate temperature after hysterectomy with ovary removal. When you say your hormone levels are "not rmal" maybe they are not normal for you. Or maybe you need a different HRT. I was easily overheated on the patch plus it left me with too many other surgical menopause symptoms. I do much better on generic Estrace tablets. Oddly, an estradiol blood level in the 120's on the patch left me with symptoms but an estradiol level in the 60's on the generic Estrace tablets keep symptoms at bay.
Have you had your thyroid checked too? Many doctors look at only the TSH but there are other tests that are better indicators of thyroid function such as free T3, free T4, and antibodies.
Hi Pains,
I also have heat issues so have been doing alot of research. I came up with Vitamin D (often low in menopausal women) which helps to regulate temperature, along with Tryptophan which also helps to regulate temp. You might want to try these supps and see whether they help at all. xx good luck
Hi! I had ask my Dr. to change my hormone therapy to Estrace, mainly because it's so much cheaper than Divigel. But he refused. He said that he will only allow me to take an all natural hormone therapy because of all the years that I smoked. He says that Divigel is still dangerous for me, but it's the safest thing out there for someone who smoked as long as I did. Even though it's been almost a year since I quit, he still says no to changing my RX. And I've been on Synthroid for low thyroid for many years now. I think my next step will be an endocrinologist. I'm not certain if I spelled that correctly......but I'm sure you know what type of Dr. I'm referring to. Now....to find a GOOD one! I won't give up until I've found out what the problem is! I don't care homany Dr.'s I have to go to. I want to feel somewhat normal again. Thank You so much for your advice about the Estrace. ✌️
Hi! I've been on Vit D 2000 mg. per day for about a year. However, I've never heard of "Tryptophan"..........I would really like to give this a try. I've never noticed this in with the other supplements in the drugs stores. Is this something that I need an RX for? Could you help me out with some more information on this, as far as where to buy, how many milligrams to take, etc.? I would really appreciate it! Thanks! ✌️
I have heard that endocrinologists are not all they are "cracked up to be." Is this a primary care or gynecologist who will not prescribe Estrace tablets? Estrace is "bio-ID" (micronized estradiol) just like the gel but he probably does not like that it is oral since that has a higher clot risk. I do not swallow my tablets. I dissolve them between cheek and gum which pretty much bypasses the first pass through the liver. Of course, this is not the standard delivery but, hey, it works for me!
