I would like to know about getting pregnant after menopause.

I have a question about menopause and the possibility of getting pregnant, and No I do not want to get pregnant. I had been using Bio-identical hormones for several years but the way they were prescribed I was still getting a period. So I stopped taking them about a year ago and had not had a period then until Jan. I went to the doctor to be checked and she did a transvaginal ultrasound, the results were my uterus is sorta larger than normal and she says nothing to worry about. She also gave me the number for my hormone levels and I guess that is really where my question comes in. I would like to know would this mean I am producing eggs and could become pregnant. Now also you should know I had my tubes tied 24 yrs ago after my last daughter. The numbers my doctor gave me are FSH- 30.7 and Estradiol- 11.2.

I am not totally 100% sure but I can tell you this, I recently had a radical hysterectomy where they took EVERYTHING because of cervicle cancer. I am considered fairly young to have that type of hysterectomy, I am 40, and when I went into surgery that morning my body had not even thought about starting menopause. My ovaries were producing a ton of estrogen. Well fast forward to now, 3 months post-op, and HOLY MENOPAUSAL HELL BATMAN!!! I am having BY FAR the worst end of the menopause symptoms. Anyway, back to your question lol, because of so much going on I decided I wanted to go spend a couple of weeks in Florida with my mom. I just needed to be home. Plus, because all of this was so new to me I figured my mother could help me to understand what my body was doing because none of my friends, due to being between the ages of 35-43, have a while until even the first hot flash hits. So again, I thought my mom could be helpful. A couple of nights after being there I see that my mother is acting JUST LIKE ME! Crying jags, forgetfulness, extremely bad/long-lasting hot flashes, night sweats etc so I bring it up. I asked her if she was still going through menopause and she said that the dr told her she had already finished menopause. She too had a hysterectomy young, 31, due to uterine cancer but since hers was contained to the interns only they were able to save one ovary. That way she wouldn't have to go through surgical menopause. I need to mention my mother had me very young so she is only 55, I talked her into going to her dr and she almost didn't listen. She swore up and down that she has gone through and finished menopause. Low and behold she had to go to the DR anyway for a checkup and she brought it up to him, and what I had said, so he decided to check her estrogen levels. They were NON EXISTENT! What she thought was menopause was PRE MENOPAUSE and she is actually
Just now starting the actual train wreck called full blown menopause lol! with ALL of this being said, sorry about my novel by the way, I would definitely without a doubt go have your levels checked. If you are still having periods even the slightest of one, then anything is possible. And as for your tubes being tied, it has been 14 years and while it's usually the most effective form of BC it isn't 100%, nothing is. Point is is that so many women THINK they have gone through and are finished with menopause when in fact they just stared. What they thought were the were the worst of the symptoms were actually just the very very tip of the iceberg. Talk to your family DR asap and find out if he can run some tests. Don't wait, because while at this point in your life it's very hard to get pregnant it's definitely a possibility. A friend of my mothers, she is 51, is 7 months along and has 5 grandchildren. You don't want that little shocking tidbit of news from your dr so go NOW! Sorry for rambling, just dealt with all the hormone issues for several months now and think every woman should be better informed and have more resources available to them. Good luck!
